2005 Passat Wagon GL Diesel 100k mile Timing Belt Service No Reserve! For Sale is a 2005 VW Passat TDI Wagon that HAS HAD the dealer’s recommended 100k mile service which includes the timing belt and alternator clutch replacement (pdf of receipt available upon request). All oil changes have been maintained with Castrol SLX, the high-end, dealer-recommended synthetic that prevents sludge build-up in the block. The bottom line is that we have taken no short cuts with the maintenance of the vehicle. We don’t typically keep vehicles beyond 100k miles, but did so in this case because we felt the maintenance would ensure the value for another 10k or so miles. I am the second owner of this car – bought it with about 50k miles. The trunk/rear space of the Passat is really nice and will be missed if we end up buying a different kind of vehicle. We drive A LOT…Roughly 25k miles a year (mostly interstate), so fuel economy is extremely important. The car has been great for us and gets conservatively mid 30’s mpg. If driven at 55 or 60 mph you can expect an economy north of 40 mpg. There are a few nicks and light scratches which I have tried as best as I can to point out. But the car is very nice to look at; the premium wheels and tires help set it apart. No paint work. 3 Tires are the Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid (great tire if a little pricey – high performance) and the fourth is a Goodyear Viva Authority that we bought on a trip after a rare flat. All 4 have 75 percent left on them (pictures available upon request). Cruise and all digital diagnostics work as expected. The A/C was serviced and recharged at about 105k miles. Gorilla trunk mat and premium floor mats (factory) all around. Spare is a donut, but has been nearly untouched. We have eBayed 5 or 6 vehicles (including this one) in the last 4 years. We expect to be told about known problems with a vehicle we buy and in turn will disclose any problems we know of when we sell. All service records and receipts will go with the vehicle as well as the factory manual, one keyless remote and an extra key.
