Vehicle Detail
RELIST DUE TO SCAM ARTIST BUYER -- SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE 1993 Pontiac Supercharged Bonneville SSEi This Pontiac Bonneville was a “Brass Hat” car – fit for a King and driven by an executive. It was practice at GM for a GM executive to pull a production car, load it up with all the toys, and drive it for a few weeks as a corporate perk and to test the production quality. Everybody wants to know “the story”, (WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR ??) so here it is: my friend Mel has owned this car since he bought it in early 1993 from his close friend and Pontiac dealer, Mr. Bloom of Bloom Pontiac in New York. When the car had a few hundred miles on it from use by a GM Pontiac division executive, it was released to Bloom Pontiac and sold to Mel. A few months later Mel retired from his New York law practice and moved to Arizona. Mel is now 87 and is downsizing again and does not need this car (His wife has a new Buick and one car is enough). My name is Bruce, and I am a semi-retired real estate lawyer also living in Scottsdale. I am a car collector and friend of Mel’s, and I am helping him sell this beauty. These cars were produced in very limited numbers; with only 6,168 built of the estimated more than 250,000 Pontiacs built in 1993. Very few (if any) in this condition are around today. Very few NEW cars today have the comfort and optional features of this beauty. THE SUPERCHARGER MAKES THIS CAR REALLY PEPPY !! Everything on the car works This car has a clean Arizona title. Mileage is a mere 62,700 miles. If you can find one with lower miles in this condition with all this equipment, BUY IT !!! Now that Pontiac is officially DEAD (October 31, 2010) this car is officially an ORPHAN COLLECTIBLE !!! I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING CARS FOR 40+ YEARS, AND HAVE NEVER SEEN A CAR WITH SO MANY “TOYS”. Collectors LOVE cars with LOTS of ACCESSORIES. The rear leather seat looks like it has never been sat upon (and Mel cannot remember anyone actually sitting there). The front seat is also super clean. Most of the time, there was only Mel in the car. The tires and wheels are in good condition and are frequently checked to make sure optimum air pressure is being maintained. The body is in good condition, and no body work has ever been done. NO RUST anywhere on this ARIZONA beauty. The only flaw is a small dent in the hood that is easily repairable. (Mel does not remember the full particulars—only that something fell of a garage shelf several years ago). The paint is also in good condition. It could use a good buffing to remove the few surface scratches that are usual to black cars. There is also a small area above the driver door where the clear coat has worn away, (too minor and could not get to show in photo) and some minor door parking lot dings on the right rear door. The engine compartment is clean but dusty and could use a detailing for show condition. Yesterday we noticed a slight rattle when the car is cold: sounds like a loose exhaust clamp. Mel does not know what it is. This car has since 1993 ALWAYS been in Arizona, and ALWAYS stored in a garage. Consequently, it runs very well and all of the gadgets and special features are in fine working order. The car comes with the original manual and all available maintenance invoices. NOTE: A few pictures make it look like the seats and dash are faded. This is NOT SO: It looks this way due to either reflection or sunlight thru the tinted glass. See the other pictures of the same area. INTERIOR IS LIKE NEW. Now for the fine print. I am not a broker or retail car dealer; I am a car collector for the past 40 years, and I am selling this car on behalf of my friend. However, auctions are not a game. When you place a bid, and you are the winning bidder, you have entered a binding contract. A $2,000.00 deposit (non-refundable) will be required within 48 hours of the close of the auction, which deposit can be made by Pay Pal or wired funds. The balance of the funds will be required within 7 days of the close of the auction, and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. No Pay Pal. I will accept Pay Pal for deposit only. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title or the vehicle is released. If all the funds are not received as indicated above, I reserve the right the keep your deposit, and resell the vehicle by re-listing, or to another bidder. I can help you arrange shipping on a worldwide basis, but I can only help with the details; the winning bidder has full responsibility for pickup or shipping at his cost. Now the disclaimers: This vehicle is being sold as is-where is, with no warranty expressed, written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer’s request prior to the close of sale. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. While we can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping, you must immediately insure it, as I will not bear any responsibility for any costs for storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Also, you must remember that this is a 17 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, we do not recommend that you just “hop in and drive cross country”. At least, I have never done that. I have always trucked the cars from where I bought them to my home. BUT that’s what I would do: I have no reason to believe this car would not be capable of a cross country trip. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID. Also, if you are new to eBay and/or have less than 5 positive feedbacks, you must contact me prior to bidding. Email me at brucieaz@gmail.com. If you have any questions, please email them to me with a phone number I can reach you at and I will contact my friend to acquire any necessary information and then get back to you. Sometimes it is easier to talk than type answers. November 13, 2010
