Up for bid is a rare 22nd Series 2 door Fastback Club Coupe, Model 2265 Deluxe Eight. I found the car about 10 years ago in the desert East of San Diego CA. I intended to create a period correct Resto-Rod with a supercharged Packard 359 Straight Eight but too many other projects have kept it on the back burner and it is time to get realistic and let it go…hopefully to someone who will bring it back to life. The car is well equipped with a 288 cid Straight Eight, 3 Speed with Overdrive, Radio, Heater, Factory Rear Speaker and the rare ElectroMatic clutch option. The body is straight and sound except for the driver side quarter panel below the door, an area below the trunk and above the rear bumper and a few dime size rust through spots in the front floor. These areas are sound enough to treat with POR 15 and fiberglass over. The trunk floor however is pretty well gone due to boxes of junk trapping moisture there. The chrome is straight and not chipped or cracked but is pitted in some areas. All the glass is nice with no cracks or chips, but it is showing some yellowing in the lamination at the edges in a few areas. The engine was running when parked 10 years ago but the brakes were down so I did not drive the car to test the clutch, transmission, suspension etc. Odometer reads 57,000 miles but I doubt that is accurate and actual mileage is unknown. Years in the desert sun and a family of rodents have trashed the interior. In summary, all the parts and pieces are there to do a complete restoration to original, or it would make a good basis for an interesting Resto/Street/Rat Rod.
