1970 Volkswagen Westfalia Bus first of all, I am selling this for someone else, I do have the van and title at our place of business if someone wishes to inspect it, or send someone else to inspect it. This van has been sitting in an elderly person's carport since 1998, it has not been started in who knows how long, the neighborhood kids have been playing inside it and it is full of old toys and stuff. I have inspected the overall shape of the van and will attempt to list that here: IT DOES NOT RUN-- the engine and drivetrain is all intact and there, it does not appear anyone has tried to take any parts off of it. THE BRAKES ARE RUSTED UP-- it will need to be winched on a trailer to move THE FLOOR PANS-- area under the engine area appears very solid, the drivers floor area is rusted thru(see picture) , the rest of the flooring appears average for its age. BODY-- the sheet metal is exceptionally straight, no evidence of any damage or bondo or body work. GLASS-- all there and usuable INTERIOR-- Headliner has fallen, Door panels- good, Seats -- ok, I would recover if restoring CAMPER AREA-- all the stuff is there-- needs cleaning, probably would not want to keep the old mattress!!-- I have not tried to raise the roof up, I don't want to try. EXTENDED TOP-- fiberglass above the driver front is cracked --(SEE picture) TIRES-- SHOT!!! Dryrotted DOORS and Door jambs-- Doors all open easily, sliding door works great, jambs all look good other than dirty Front Windshield-- good -- weatherstrip is dry rotted-- has surface rust around bottom of windsheild weatherstrip-(see picture) OVERALL this is a project!!! But everything appears to be there!!! The van has , according to previous owner, always been in Oklahoma and Arkansas, so it has not been subjected to bad winters, road salt, or extreme ice. SELLING AT NO RESERVE-- IT HAD TO BE MOVED OUT OF THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD-- if you have other questions I will try to answer but again I have tried to outline all I can above.
