Normal 0 false false false EN-US KO X-NONE Convertible Description: 2002 model is E46. Convertible top is cloth, 3rd generation ragtop, powered fully automatic convertible top on 3-series. I owned all three generations. Thanks to multi-layer sound-deading design, this is the quietest of the three (obviously), and only at highway speeds far exceeding the 65 mph, you note the wind noise, and very quiet in city driving (not notice any wind noise). Top down and up is completely automatic and powered, no levers to undo or do, and smooth on this car. For this model , rollover protection bars (behind rear headrests) are standard. The convertible top on this car is in great shape, no tears, no visible wear (should not be), and no leaks (noted in heavy rain and car wash). A great all season car. Color: BMW’s Oxford Green is Dark Metallic Green (see photos) or Deep Forest Green, with light sand beige leather interior. BMW's idea of "British racing green" really. BMW’s idea is to have leather wherever you touch and sit, and the rest is color-matched plastic of sorts. Exceptions: 1. Body: Front bumper, left hand side (see picture) has scuff marks. Driver side rear quarter panel has 4-5 slight indentation (see picture, but hard to see) that you could see at a shallow angle, Passenger side rear quarter panel has slight but visible ding. Except for the front bumper, clear coat and other paint layers intact and not damaged. Convertible boot trim (see picture where convertible is stored with top down) missing on both side. You could see the small blank areas on convertible storage boot. These popped out in separate occasion and I got tired to popping them back in, and now misplaced. Could be purchased at the dealer and installed. 2. Gear shift: Normally shifter returns to middle (gears 3/4 position) in neutral. But often the shifter stays near the right (gear 5 position) when the last gear was 5 before neutral. This resets itself when you use gears 1-4, i.e. when you come off the gears 1-4 to neutral, the shifter stays in proper place in neutral. My mechanic told me that it is a simple adjustment on the return spring, but advised me to do the adjustment when I service the clutch, since this would be all labor. This issue came with the car when I purchased it, and frankly I did not notice for a while (was not disclosed). Not a big deal, but buyer should know all relevant information I have on this car. BTW, I did not have to change the clutch, so this issue is still with the car. 3. I added 6 Disc CD/MP3 (Alpine, CHA-S634, with AiNet to M-BUS adopter) changer in the trunk, using BMW mounting kit, but did not buy the new molded trim kit around it. Also a CD is stuck in that changer. The car comes with the CD changer but NO GUARANTEE that it works nor whether it is fixable. OEM connector to the CD changer is not modified in any way and disconnected at this point. Why is this noted? Many iPod/iPhone/MP3 player interface module to the BMW radio uses this connector. Extra items for sale: I have BMW OEM wind deflector (covers rear seats and provide wind-block to front passengers when top is down) for this car, in almost new condition (purchased it new) with carrying/storage case, extra matching alloy wheel and tires (does not match on-car tires), and Garmin Nuvi Portable Navigation with lifetime traffic option.
