Vehicle Detail

1964 Triumph Spitfire. Triumph Racing Green. Many new parts. I have receipts for everything I’ve done to the car. Engine compartment and front frame rails are detailed and painted. Car runs and drives great. Does not burn any oil but it leaks a little. Car is not perfect but is really nice and drives well for what it is. It has been garage kept since I bought it back in 1999. I just don’t drive it anymore so I decided to sell instead of letting it sit. Body: New bonnet (Hood, $1500 alone from Spitbits), rear quarter panels, trunk lid, front and rear valence panels, outer rear wheel wells, rocker panels, battery box, sheet metal floor pans. Paint is Triumph Racing Green DuPont Chroma-clear (base coat-clear coat) urethane paint, etching primer, and sealer/surfacer. The body was stripped bare before painting. Bumpers are removed for a sleeker look, but I have a homemade set that bolt on for inspection purposes (included but not shown). It would not be hard to refit some original bumpers if you wanted. The trunk hinges, front turn signals, head light rims, tail light lenses were all replaced. Rear turn signals are combined into the main rear lights. Rock chip in windshield on passenger side. Interior: Nice condition, I put MGB seat covers and pads on the stock frames, they are starting to show wear and have a few tears. New dash top (complete top, not an overlay). Banjo style steering wheel. All gauges are nice and work. I replaced the turn signal switch, glove boxes, transmission cover, ignition switch, switch knobs, shifter boot, parking brake boot, rear side panels, and window cranks/trim plates. Carpet is OK but could be replaced. I don’t have a top for it but it come with the top frame and a tonneau cover. Engine: 1296cc from a 1972, rebuilt with new bearings, head studs & nuts, ARP rod bolts, crankshaft polished, cylinders bored 0.020" over, new pistons and rings, mild performance camshaft, cam followers, valve job, head resurfaced, Payne head gasket, etc. 4-1 header, free flowing exhaust, polished aluminum valve cover, NOS distributor, twin SU carbs with new shafts, jets and needles, K&N air filters, radiator hoses, Lucas coil, electric fuel pump, battery cables, GM internal regulator alternator conversion. Drive train: Mini-lite style wheels, Pirelli P400 175/70/13 tires, replaced U-joints, clutch disc, pressure plate, TOB bearing, speedometer cable, clutch tube, differential seals, polyurethane differential bushings, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder. There is a slight grind into second gear if you shift too fast, but shifts fine in normal driving. Brakes: New master cylinder, front and rear brake hoses, rear wheel cylinders. Suspension: Replaced front sway bar bushings and u-bolts, tie rods, ball joints, front trunion kit, front polyurethane control arm bushings, front competition springs, polyurethane rear radius rod bushings, steering coupling, polyurethane steering rack bushings, front and rear KYB shocks, steering rack boots. Car is sold used and as such has no warranty. Buyer is responsible to pay all costs and arrange shipping car. Feel free to come and see the car in person or send someone to check it out. I can send more pictures if wanted. Please send me an email with any questions. Deposit of $500 must be made within 24 hours. Full payment must be made and car picked up within 7 days. On Nov-09-10 at 07:21:38 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to add, it does not currently have the heater pipe that runs from the water pump housing to the heater valve. The heater core is good and the blower works, just needs the pipe to make it blow hot air. On Nov-10-10 at 15:28:13 PST, seller added the following information: I've been asked to reveal the reserve price. I don't want to do that but the current bid price is getting close. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. On Nov-11-10 at 19:15:34 PST, seller added the following information: Also included is a box of extra parts (nothing major) and an extra transmission (minus tailshaft housing). On Nov-13-10 at 22:38:50 PST, seller added the following information: Also included with the car are (see new picture) - One well worn Haynes manual, two other old manuals, some pictures from the restoration, Spitfire mug, bottle of Spitfire Ale, Spitfire button, 10 years of Spitfire & GT6 magazines, and various other magazines/catalogs. Sorry the 1964 Utah plates are not included with sale of car unless buyer lives in Utah and want to transfer them over.
