Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle. This is one of those items: We just received this beautiful yellow Thing from an owner who lives in the area. They kept the Thing just for occasional driving and shows. Last year they sent it to a Volkswagen specialist and the Things has a new transmission. The Thing runs and drives absolutely fantastic. All the doors, gauges, knobs, everything works and is in excellent working condition. It can be a daily driver with lots of power. It has a beautiful convertible top and it also has the side windows. The tires are in good shape and it is ready to be driven. It has a clear Texas title and it has Texas antique license plates. The only thing on the Thing that I have to mention is that there is a very small area next to the back door that has rust . Someone replaced the area under the battery in the backseat with flat metal (these are the only area that could use some attention). Other than that, the car is absolutely fantastic and needs very little cosmetic attention. All the inspections must be done before the auction closes. Please, please, please be sure that you have the money to purchase the bike if you are bidding. Remember that this classic VW is 38 years old. Please remember that things always look better in pictures. So you are more than welcome to come see it in person, and if you are not sure, please don’t bid. I’m into antiquities and I don’t know that much about VW in detail. Please come and check it as I am expressing how I see the vehicle. Your bid is your contract. We require a $300 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding closes, and the remaining balance within a week. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
