Up for auction is one of the rarest GTO's to be offered here on ebay! Its an ultra rare original Ram Air car!! And its an Ultra Rare Plum Mist car Pontiac only built 751 Ram Air GTO's in 67 and this one is one of the 532 Close Ratio 4 Speed cars built. These cars are like Hens teeth to find as most were destined to Dragstrip Duty early on.In 67 all Ram air cars were like drag pack cars that came with mandatory 433 rear end gears only. Most of these cars were blown up early on and Ive only laid my eyes on 3 Ram Air 67's in 30 years of following Pontiac cars. I guess once they were blown up most found their way to Junkyards as there were no special markings on them. This car was sold new in Ohio where it remained until earlier this year.I have copys of the ohio titles along with owner history. The original motor was removed early on for unknown reasons at this time. But the car has only 38,000 original miles documented by the old titles and the body and interior show it. The car retains its original sheetmetal and floor and trunk panels. The chrome is original Gm parts and show well. The stainless is beautiful and brilliant.All original glass. The body is exstremely straight as you will see in the pictures ive taken. The paint has a deep shine and like I said earlier Its the ultra rare shade of Plum Mist mettalic as shown on its Trim Tag and PHS Documentation! Less than 2% of all gm cars in 67 were painted this hue and to date its the only Plum Ram air car to be documented. This car left the factory with no pwr steering or brakes,Just Factory Tachometer/gauges and even came with poverty caps and whitewalls!!! The engine is not the original one but a built 455 with date coded 67 670 heads like the early cars had.Original rear was swapped in 1972 for a heavy duty 12 bolt chevelle rear with 373 gears. It seems after talking to a few in the know that most ram air cars had the 433 rear taken out early on as they are engine killers. The 4 speed trans is the correct 67 date coded close ratio unit and it shifts well. Factory Ram air header manifolds along with a Pypes aluminum exhaust system. Although the original drivetrain is replaced this is still an exstremely rare car that isnt offered every day and there have only been around 40 cars accounted for to date including 6 convertibles.
