Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1968 C Code Mustang Hardtop VIN # 8R01C151789 On the market for the first time since 1969 by the original owner!! Purchased by the only owner it has ever had from Titus Will Ford in Tacoma Washington, This car was their Mustang Demo and was purchased with 9000 miles on it. The original license plate frames are still on the car. The current owner stayed in the Seattle area until 1972 when she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. The car has always been garaged or in a carport. Ethel is very sad to see her baby go, but at the young age of 88, she is having a hard time driving and has decided to be safe and surrender her driving license.Fly in, Drive home!! Vin and Data Plate decodes as: 1968 Ford Mustang Plant: San Jose CA Body: 2 Door Hardtop Engine: 289 2V V8 Unit # 151789 Body: 65A, 2 Door Hardtop, Standard Interior Color: F, Gulfstream Aqua Metallic Trim: 2K, Lt. Aqua Crinkle Vinyl and Dk. Aqua Kiwi Vinyl, Standard Interior Date: 19C, March 19, 1968 DSO: 74, Seattle Axle: 2, 2.78:1 Conventional Trans: W, C4 Automatic Car is in very good condition, and starts, drives and runs very well. Power steering, drum brakes. Radio and lighter do not work. 129779 Miles on the car. Details on car: Engine: All original, the only alteration is the STP emission modification that was required when the car was brought to California. Interior: Original, nothing has ever been done, carpets look new, I have lifted the carpet on the passenger side and as you can see in the pictures, even the padding under the carpet looks new. The driver’s seat has a tear in the middle of the seatback and on the side where it has been worn due to entering the car. There are no signs of any water intrusion in the car, there is no staining or signs of rust from water leaking into the interior. Exterior: Car has had a repaint, Ethel does not remember when but said she had it done because the paint was starting to fade and she wanted to keep the car looking pretty. The car does damage on the right front fender, front bumper and the front of the hood, all by Ethel and is one of the reasons she is not driving anymore. Undercar: NO RUST. All areas that are a concern are rust free, spring mounts, floor pans and cowl all show no signs of rust. (please go to attached link and look at all pictures). VIN #: I cannot see a stamped VIN number in the left inner fender panel. My research has not given me a definite answer that there should be one there, I have talked to four Mustang restorers and have been told that that is not an indication that the inner panel has been replaced. I have owned two 1968 Mustangs and they both had VIN numbers stamped on the left inner panel. Ethel says that she has never had an accident with the car, and the STP sticker that covers that area is original from 1972. I have taken numerous pictures of the inner fender panel, both from under hood and under car and I cannot tell that it has been replaced, none of the inner panels, radiator support, shock towers look to have been damaged or replaced. I don’t know if this matters or will help but the fact that the front license plate frame is still on the car and not damaged may indicate that the car was never in an accident as if it was hit bad enough to need inner fenders, the frame may have been damaged or broken. As you can tell by this write up, I am listing this car for a dear old friend. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via e-mail or call my cell at 415-760-2869 Please note that all pictures were taken on a rainy day outdoors.
