I am selling my 97 Outback, I have been driving the car up until a week ago (got a newish CRV). The inspection is current and I still have insurance on it. I have had the fallowing done within the last 10,000 miles. New Front Breaks New Front Rotors New Front Half Shafts (And Bearings) New Water Pump New Timing Belt New Battery New Radiator Flush That is roughly $1600 worth of work (all genuine parts) and I have receipts. Physically the car is in good but not perfect shape, it has never been in an accident but has a few dings and scratches it also has a crack in the front windshield which has survived two winters and one inspection with no problem. The interior is also in good but not perfect shape. Mechanically the car seems sound, I overheated during the sumer and replaced the thermostat, a month later it overheated again, the mechanic recommended that I omit the thermostat rather than replace it a second time. Now it has no thrmostat and it drives fine. (I let it heat up for a couple min). While I can't garuntee that the car will be problem free, I can say that a good amount of the work these car typically need around 100k has already been done, most notably the water pump, timing belt, and bearings. please send me a message if you have any questions about the car.
