Vehicle Detail
1971 Mach 1, 351 Cleveland 4V, C6 automatic, ram air hood, quick ratio steering, 4:10 rear end----Super sharp daily driver, gets a ton of attention anywhere it goes. Correct late 70' 351C w/ 4V heads, 650 holley carb, headers, dual exhaust, huge cam, really lopes. Cragar SS/T chrome mags w/ 235/60/14 Cooper Cobra front, 295/50/15 rears that are new. Runs and drives strong, trans and motor/heads have been rebuilt within the last 5000 mi, no leaks or smoke/noises. Paint is about a year old, very shiny and sharp, but does have it's little dings, scratches and imperfectations here or there, it is not a show car...just looks like it from 3 feet! Factory Ram-Air set-up under the hood. Body has had work done, and there is filler here and there I'm sure, nothing bad, all metal when you knock on it, the car has been redone...not restored, there is a difference, this car has not had a rotiserie, or nut and bolt restoration, just redone to make it a clean driver---Underside is solid and undercoated, I'm sure there have been a couple floorboard patches over the years, but no holes, and the subframes are all good (see pics) Interior is also driver quality, good, but has 2 cracks on the dash, dr. seat is taped up where you set, and looks like original carpeting, other than that complete and in good shape, pass. seat perfect along with the rear seats---Trunk is nice, looks to have been replaced sometime--Door bottoms do have some filler and work done, can't tell from the outside, but I can tell on the bottoms---Basically looks stunning from the outside, but if you pick the car apart you can find bodywork and imperfectations...but if it was any nicer you'd be afraid to drive it....New aluminum 4 core radiator w/elec cooling fan. Door tag reads, Trim 5A, Axle 9, Trans U, Body, 63R, COL J, DSO 43---So, that says the original color was Grabber Blue, and the rear end was 3:25, other than that everything is correct, it is a true Mach 1, the M in the vin denotes 351C 4V, and the trans code is C6--I believe this had the drag-pac option too, as the quick ratio steering , Ram-Air, and the C6 w' 3000rpm stall I'm told were. Good brakes, signals, lights etc, ready to cruise although it's got the usual light creaks and rattles like any old car, I do notice a vibration at hwy speeds, might be a u-joint or something, hard to tell it's turning 3000rpm at about 55-60....may need some tinkering, these old muscle cars usually always do, don't expect to buy a perfect one. I've seen nicer, just like anything else, but Barrett-Jackson can keep those trailer queens for the collectors....if you can't hear and feel the power it's no fun to own...Clear WI title, in my name, in my hand----Take a look, ask me any questions, Thanks
