Hello, you are bidding on my 1981 VW Rabbit. This rabbit is in excellent condition and spent most of it's life in Florida. The vehicle has zero rust and is all original equipment. The interior has a few stains here and there but no tears in the seats, dash, or door cards. The rims have been recently painted along with the "rally" stripe on the hood. The 1.6L diesel runs great. The head has been replaced within the last 25,000 miles along with the timing belt, tensioners, water pump, v-belts, and clutch. The passenger's side half-shaft was just replaced. The battery is around a year old and the injection pump was replaced with a rebuilt from the VW Parts Place. The injectors and glow plugs were all replaced within the last couple of years. I replaced the OEM shifter with the "Golf Ball" style shifter. The original center caps and beauty rings for the rims also go with the car (1 beauty ring is MIA). I also have some OEM Fender Flares that go with the car if you want to install them. The known issues with this little rabbit are the following: Driver's side front turn signal lens is cracked (bulb works fine) and will need replaced, rear passenger side body trim strip is missing. Tires are getting a little thin and will need replaced soon. Other than that everything works just fine...the brakes are good and the exhaust is ok. The glass is all original with the original window stickers that came with this car. This little bugger has been my daily commuter in the summer only and has been put away in the winters. The strut towers have no rust either. My reserve is set way below the ridiculous price that most of these guys set theirs at. This car is a great little runner and needs a new home.
