Hello to all! Here is just what you want! A 1981 / 1982 Diesel Vanagon! I say 81/82 because it was built 11/81 due to the date technicalities it is titled an 1982....All that being said, it is the 1st model year that VW put the diesel engine in the Vanagon, that making it rare and the envy of all your diesel and VW friends. This VW overall is is in wonderful shape. The body is solid, the interior is good, the transmission shifts great in all gears, the engine runs fine, it rides very nice down the road and it has a sun roof! What could possibly be better? I don't know..haha The reason I am getting rid of this VW is, I don't have the time right now to give it the attention it needs and no room to store it. What it does need for sure is, an alternator, the bearing went out of it, the bearings sell for $8 and a new alternator is $100. The van still starts and runs! The seal around the sun roof, the headliner will partially or completely replaced, a good cleaning and a radio. I have found no rust holes in the body or undercarriage anywhere but as you can see in the pics, the paint is not beautiful, but it is original! Soooo, what are you waiting for! Don't let this piece of VW history slip away from you, the 1st year VW dieseled the Vanagon and hit the highways! Great luck bidding and have fun! If you need any other pics, just ask!
