Vehicle Detail

UP FOR AUCTION! 1954 GMC 150 3/4 ton Pickup with Chelsea PTO Driven Hydraulic Dump Bed, 4 speed manual transmission and heavy duty rear axle. Take a good look at this little jewel! This truck was driven into a metal storage building and parked about 10 years ago, the coolant was drained and the battery removed, but unfortunately they did not drain the gas tank. After being parked the owner passed away and I was commissioned by his estate to pick it up, get it running and sell it on Ebay. Here is what it took to get it going. The fuel tank was drained, removed and cleaned out, oil and oil filter changed, new glass bowl fuel pump installed, new spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points and condenser, new 6 volt battery, dipped and rebuilt the carburetor, new choke cable, new throttle cable, pressure tested the cooling system and filled with new 50/50 coolant, checked the compression (130psi on all 6), new master cyclinder, new air cleaner assembly(I still have the oilbath type that was on the truck) and 5 gallons of fresh gasoline. After all the fresh parts its starts and runs great. The generator is charging fine, and the engine runs 60psi oil pressure when cold and 45 warmed up. I am assuming that this truck may have been originally sold to the Kansas State Highway Department because the original color looks to be bright orange and then sometime in its life it has been repainted to the metallic brown that it is now. When it was repainted the cab corners were replaced with reproduction steel patch panels. I believe all of the other sheet metal is original and appears to never had any major dents repaired. Its just a really straight old truck. The tires will need to be replaced as they are weather cracked and aged, but the tubes still hold air well. Clear Kansas Paper Title. Email with any questions and thanks for looking! On Oct-27-10 at 15:37:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note that payment in full is expected within 7 days of auction end and truck will need to be picked up within 30 days. Longer term storage is available at $100 per month prepaid.
