Vehicle Detail
1999 BMW 323i, 2.5 Liter inline 6. Only 108,000 miles. Silver exterior, and a Black on Black Leather interior (hard to find). 5 speed manual transmission with new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. Power windows, power locks, power seats (with 3 memory recalls), keyless entry, moonroof/sunroof, Cruise control, climate control, AC, 16 inch alloy wheels, and almost new tires. Water pump, thermostat, control arms, control bushings, valve cover gasket, and struts, brakes/rotors, (along with many other parts) all professionally replaced by dealership. (BMW of Peabody, MA) $6,000 dollars in reciepts for maintenance done by BMW of Peabody. This car has always been taken excellent care of, doesn't leak or burn any oil, and is exceptional on gas mileage considering the power it has. I averaged around 35 MPG on the highway, and around 24 in town. Due to swerving to avoid a deer, the car does need a few things. The front passenger side fender has a small dent in it, which can be easily fixed or replaced. When I swerved to miss the deer, I slid into a ditch and bent the radiator, cracked the radiator reservoir, and cracked one of the plastic idler pulleys for the serpentine belt. The cost to replace these items is cheap: Brand new fender - $30, new radiator -$80, new radiator reservoir - $40, new pulley - $20, new serpentine belt $15. The cooling fan may or may not need to be replaced, some of the plastic is cracked, but it still works. You can find one for around $100 dollars new. (Figures that the electric plastic fan is the most expensive thing to replace) All these items can easily be found on ebay or other online parts stores at these prices. Other than that, the car just has a few dings and scratches here and there, but nothing too bad. (See Pictures) The car still starts, runs, and drives perfect, but due to the radiator and reservoir, it will have to be towed/trailered home. The only reason I'm not taking the time to fix this car myself is because I just spent multiple weeks in the hospital for pancreatitis, and not having insurance, I'm looking at around $50 - $75,000 dollars worth of hospital bills, and I am in need of some immediate cash. If I was in good health, and had the time and money to fix this car, I definitely would. Sadly, my loss is your gain. I've driven this car for almost 2 years, and I absolutely love it, and I hope to have another one some day down the road once I get my finances in order. If you're looking for a nice car that you won't have to put a lot of work into, this is it. The blue book value on this car is $9,725. I hate to see this car go, but I really have no other choice.
