Vehicle Detail
1990 Honda Accord I purchased this car in 1991 used from GE Capitol. My wife owned the car until 2003 and then I gave the car to my daughter for college. Last week the radiator sprung a leak and the inspection is due at the end of October. I'm done. I'm finished repairing this car and helped my daughter get a new car since her schooling will be done in December and she can take over the payments. Mileage is about 179,200 I listed as 180k. What's right: I changed the oil every 3k miles since I owned it. I have replaced two timing belts and water pumps. In the last two years I have replaced the catalytic converter all the way back to the tailpipe. New Strutts up front. A complete tune up. New brakes last year. Battery is good. New front door handles last year. Somewhere along its life I have replaced the starter, key ignition, shifting switch. Within the last three years I have had the transmission flushed. The car runs good and does not smoke. The transmission shifts through all gears. Rear tires are good. What's wrong: When I purchased it I noticed that it was repainted. The car has been in two front bumper accidents since I have owned it. Once into a boulder (forward instead of reverse...), and once it ran into a car. Both accidents that a family member caused were repaired and the car was repainted. The paint jobs were not great and the paint has not held up. There have been a few dings here and there. My daughter was an art student and some art supplies have ruined the back seat, it's still usable. Two hubcaps are missing. The cloth on the interior doors is coming loose, it has unglued once and rubber cement did the trick. The radio is a replacement and does work, although the speakers are pretty much shot for high volume. Electric antena tries to retract but does not when the car is turned off. The usual accord rust in the rear quarter panel near the tire, can't remember if I put a small patch in there or not? Rest of the car is not rusty. This does have factory air but the Air conditioner does not work, I did change it over to 134a, evacuated it, charged it, worked for about 1 day then lost charge. Rear Trunk spring does not work, wooden rod will come with car to help keep it propped up. Rear ash tray is missing. There is a gash in one of the running boards, I believe it is the right one. Does not have a tire jack. This is what I know will need to be done for inspection: The car will need a radiator repair or replacement. The front tires are toast and will need to be replaced. There may be other things that I don't know about which the new owner will/may need to repair. Selling car as is. If you have any questions contact me. On Oct-24-10 at 10:02:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: Just moved the car, checked the radiator, radiator showed full... My daughter said that water was puddled under the far front of the car at school when it leaked. A teacher filled the radiator and she drove home, no abnormal temperature readings during ride. I did notice that there was radiator fluid droplets coming from the pan/plastic under the radiator when she got home which I believed was a bad radiator. A few days before the puddle I had loaded the reserve canister to full. (Now Empty) Maybe its as simple as a bad radiator cap? There is no water in the oil and I have never noticed fluid directly under the engine. Or maybe the radiator leaks under pressure when it gets hot?
