I’m selling this 1976 BMW 2002 after purchasing it nearly 2 years ago from the second owner. I have moved to Vermont and need a car I can drive in the winter and this one will deteriorate rapidly here. Since I purchased it I replaced the engine and transmission mounts, installed a BMW 320 radiator and replace the coolant hoses and clamps. The water pump was leaking so I replaced this and the thermostat at the same time. The car had a Weber DGAV when I purchased it but against common wisdom, I completely overhauled the Solex and now the car is running better than on the Weber but still not totally smooth at idle, I am selling the car with the Weber DGAV. Many other parts were replaced recently such as the alternator, fuel pump, battery, belt, and full ignition tune up. I have used the car as my daily driver and has been reliable and delightful to drive. The brakes and suspension are excellent, all electrical components work as new and the dash is in excellent condition. As you can see, the rear seat is nasty and the front seats are out of an earlier ‘02. A compression test has been done and all cylinders are quite good. First bump gives 75psi on 1, 3, and 4, with 74 psi on cyl 2. Compression is then 105, 100, 119, and 110psi. You can see some minor rust in the photos provided, the right rear shock tower has a slight rust mark and there is some minor rust here and there as you can see from the photos but it is not a rotten basket case by any stretch. As near as I can tell, the paint is largely original and in the original shade of dark red.
