Hello. This is a Beautiful 2006 BMW 750i that I recently purchased as a gift for my wife's 40th birthday. The car appears to have had a light tap on the front right side and was sold with a salvaged title. I took the car in to a BMW mechanic to have it checked out. I found out that when the car was involved in the accident, the engine went into SAFE mode. As far as I can tell, basically this means that the engine is limited to about 1,000 RPM until it gets some maintenance like the throttle actuator mentioned below. My mechanic investigated the car and found that it needs the following parts: Throttle Actuator $38, Outside Temperature Sensor $59, Throttle Potentiometer $384. Additionally, someone removed the Navigation/i-drive computer from the left compartment in the trunk, so the I-drive system only has partial functionality, (Temp Control, Parking Distance Assist, etc..). Someone also removed the spare tire and cover, but left the jack. I have been looking around on Ebay for a used Navigation System to replace the one that was removed and have found that they range from about $500-800 for this model. Concerning the airbags, I talked to my mechanic about them and he said that they don't appeared to have deployed or if they did that they were already repaired. You can see where the airbags are housed in pictures of the steering wheel and the passenger door panels. So, my wife's birthday present is going to take more time and money than what I expected. As a result, I am moving on to a different project, my 2008 Victory Vision motorcycle. So, now lets discuss what I knew about the car before I bought it, the car has a small dent in the front right side of the hood, that is repairable. Also, there is a small dent in the left fender. Both of these dents can be repaired without these parts being replaced by any local body shop. Once these dents are fixed, the hood will need to be touched up a little. Also, concerning the hood, it needs to be re-rigged as it isn't hung properly right now. You can see this in the pictures. The front bumper has some minor cosmetic damage with a few chrome colored trim pieces missing. This trim can be found here on Ebay for about $20 for a long roll. Unfortunately, I was looking for something a little more turn key for my wife's birthday present (due to time constraints), so here is an opportunity for someone who is willing to do some legwork to own a great car for far below what it would cost to purchase otherwide.
