This auction is for a 1966 body shell only, I am using the frame for another project. The rear bumper is not included, just the shell, there are no doors, windshield or rear glass. The rear quarter glass is still intact. This car is a real 242 GTO 4 speed thats had a rough life. At some point someone cut the roof off and it was bolted back on. The cowl and firewall area has also been cut but is still intact. If you have a frame and ALOT of talent you could try and save this old goat. The quarters are repairable, they will need the lower patch panels available through ames, year one, ect.. The windshield area and kick panels are very rusty as is the trunk and roof. The roof was removed to be replaced and previous owner abanded the project and put it back on. Same goes for the cowl section, it was cut along the floor in front of the 4 speed transmission hump but never completed. Theres not much left to work with here but I figured someone might want the quarter panels off it. If the shell does not sell I will cut them off and list them seperately but I was hoping to sell as all one piece. I will leave the body on the frame untill payment as been received. This car has all vin tags in place with a clear title so a restoration is possible but not for the do-it yourself weekend warrior, this car is in tough shape. The floor section by the 4 speed hump is useable and maybe some of the floor section but the trunk is to rusty to save. Remember this is the shell only, bumper and frame not included. Steering column is not original, I was told it was out of an oldsmobile. Its just in there to steer the car but is included with the shell. No gear selector or shifter. Pick up only, buyer arranges all shipping details. If you need quarters, these could be saved. All questions welcome and answered promptly. I tried to be as accurate as possible. If there is a certain area you'd like a better look at just let me know and I will email you pics. Buyer may take all or part of car, I've had several questions about that also. Once you buy it you can have whatever you want off it and I will scrap the rest. Some people just want a quarter panel, ect. I dont care what you do with it once its paid for. I just left it whole for the auction in case someone wanted the whole thing. I got a sawz all and I'm not afraid to use it. Just wanted to clarify that, I didnt want to cut first and ask questions later. I've never shipped quarter panels, that could be expensive and they could get damaged so I prefer not to ship them. You will need to come get those. I will assit in any way possible with loading. I have a cherry picker and 2 strong boys to lift the shell onto your vehicle.On Oct-21-10 at 16:27:19 PDT, seller added the following information: By request I have added some pics of the passenger side quarter panel. Inside of sail panels is rusty on both quarters, I took a pic of that area. Trunk lid is restorable. Someone at some point used it for a cutting board, there are some cut marks on the lid and in one spot they cut through. Looks like a skil saw mark?? Its very fixable but I wanted to note that. Some surface rust on inside by the edge but no major rot. Drivers quarter is the worst of the two but I still think it could be saved with a lower patch panel...
