Hello, My name is John Olsen and I am selling my 1962 custom California built roadster. Let me just start by telling you thatI drove from Florida To Califonia Two years ago to buy the bug and when I laid Eyes on how flawless the car was, I had tears!! This is a 1962 beetle with top of the line body mods. The roof has been removed and done so in such a way as to allow the Carson chop top glass roof to fit. The door glass has been removed and filled in with steel and led. The remaining lip of the body that circles around has been welded, contoured and filled flawlessly with led as well. The windshield has been custom fabricated resembling a roadster style one with acrylic glass and laid flat with no ruber exposed. the cowel area pinch weld has been smoothed with steel and led and will not ever crack. Door handles are shaved and the paint is near perfect right down to the hinges being detailed and buffed. Front and rear end body detail is gorgious from the chrome bumpers and headlight assemblies to the rear tail lights and nose cone. All ruber and its chanels are perfect fresh and clean. The car comes with a Carson chop top That needs either paint or canvas with some attachment points. The rear window of the top is oval and I am throwing in a complete oval window portion with glass! The body has been supported structuraly like a sherman tank. It has 2" channel running front to back through out the bottum of the under carrige. There are pillar support beams built in to the sides of the rear of the door area and finished and painted of course. The roadster comes with a Long board painted to match the beautiful two tone black and salmon paint job. The Motor is 1600cc and has proven itself all over Florida from show to show. The tranny shifts and operates nice as well. It has a grey on grey interior of vinyl that is also very smooth against the stock dash housing the sony am fm cd player. The front of the trunk is very clean and has simple stock wiring. The car has to be seen to be realized!! Dean Kirsten from Hot VW's was amazed at how well this car was built. He shot some pics and it is in the magazine that covered Miami's Volks Blast Two years back. Sometimes the key has to be turned a few times before the starter kicks? Its done it for three years? There is a small scratch on front passengers side fender lip, and the side of the drivers side door lip. Floor pans are perfect and the car has no rust.Of course the car is as is, and you are responsable for shipping or pick-up, although I will do what I can to help you arrange it.
