Vehicle Detail

FOR SALE IS MY LOVELY CADILLAC ALLANTE. I HAD TO MAKE A HARD DECISION ON IT... I REALLY WANT TO KEEP IT BUT I RARELY DRIVE IT. WINTER IS COMING HERE AND THAT MEANS ANOTHER YEAR OF STORAGE FOR ME, PLUS THIS 2 SEAT CONVERTIBLE IS NOT TO ECONOMICAL WHEN YOU HAVE A YWO YEAR OLD. I PURCHASED THIS CAR ABOUT 2 1/2 YEARS AGO AND PROBABLY ONLY PUT ABOUT 3-4000 MILES ON IT (IF THAT). THINGS COST A LITTLE MORE THEN AND I PAYED $6,000+ FOR THIS CAR. I SAW IT AND HAD TO HAVE IT! WHEN YOU RIDE WITH THE TOP DOWN IN THIS VERY UNCOMMON CAR IT FEELS GREAT! A REAL HEAD TURNER. IT HAD BEEN SITTING IN MY GARAGE FOR A BIT BECAUSE I NEVER GET A CHANCE TO ENJOY IT SO I GOT IT TUNED UP WITH PLUGS, WIRES, ROTOR, ETC. -STARTS RIGHT UP AND ENGINE RUNS GOOD, DRIVES WELL TOO. ELECTRIC SEATS AND WINDOWS, ALL LIGHTING AND CONSOLE IN WORKING ORDER. THIS CAR IS A BEAUTY! THE PROBLEM I HAD SINCE I BOUGHT IT HAS TO DO WITH THE TOP LATCHING DOWN UNDER THE REAR WINDOW- ITS MISSING THE LATCH THE COMES UNDER THE WINDOW AND PULLS IT DOWN TIGHT (SEE PICS). YOU CAN STILL PUT THE TOP UP IT JUST DOESNT HAVE AN AIR TIGHT SEAL IN THE BACK... HOOKS PROPERLY UP IN THE FRONT. YOU RELEASE THE TOP HATCH COVER FROM IN THE TRUNK WITH THE MANUAL RELEASE. IM SURE THIS IS NOT TO BAD OF A PROBLEM AS THE MOTOR THAT PULLS DOWN THE MISSING HOOK IS COMPLETLY OPERABLE. ANYWAY IF YOU HAVE A CAR LIKE THIS YOU NEVER EVEN WANT TO USE THE TOP. THIS WAS MY RARE DRIVEN TOY- IF ITS RAINING OR SNOWING YOU DONT WANT TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYWAY. THIS IS ALL FOR THE EXPERIENCE OF DRIVING WITH THE TOP DOWN ON A NICE DAY. THE TOP ITSELF IS IN GOOD CONDITION! BECAUSE OF THIS TOP PROBLEM AND 1 TIRE HAS A BULDGE ON IT, AND A COUPLE OF MINOR BLEMISHES IT PUTS THE CAR VALUE BETWEEN GOOD AND FAIR. IT REALLY IS MUCH NICER THAN FAIR! LOOK AT THE PICS- SUPER CLEAN PAINT AND LEATHER AND CLEAN MOTOR. ORIGINAL OWNER MANUAL INCLUDED TOO!! I HAVE LISTED BELOW HOW BLUE BOOK RANKS CARS AND THE VALUE THAT THIS ALLANTE IS. IM STARTING THE AUCTION AT $2,000 WHICH IS VERY GOOD FOR A CAR LIKE THIS IN THIS SHAPE, AND A $4,000 LOSS FOR ME. BELIEVE ME I DONT WANT TO SELL IT BUT I HAD TO MAKE A DESISION. I DID MY PART AND TOLD YOU ALL ABOUT IT SO TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICS... Excellent $4,420 Good $4,045 Fair $3,445 Private Party Value This value assumes the vehicle has received the cosmetic and/or mechanical reconditioning needed to qualify it as "Excellent". This is not a transaction value; it is representative of a dealer's asking price and the starting point for negotiation. Vehicle Condition Ratings Excellent "Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this Good "Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category. Fair “Fair” Some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. Tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage. Poor "Poor" condition means that the vehicle has severe mechanical and/or cosmetic defects and is in poor running condition. The vehicle may have problems that cannot be readily fixed such as a damaged frame or a rusted-through body. A vehicle with a branded title (salvage, flood, etc.) or unsubstantiated mileage is considered "poor." A vehicle in poor condition may require an independent appraisal to determine its value. Kelley Blue Book does not attempt to report a value on a "poor" vehicle because the value of cars in this category varies greatly. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is". Some of the vehicles in this publication could be considered "Daily Drivers" and are not valued as a classic vehicle. When determining a value for a daily driver, it is recommended that the subscriber use the low retail value. Note: This value does not represent a "parts car". #Average Retail Value This vehicle would be in good condition overall. It could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. A "20-footer". #High Retail Value This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition. Note: This value does not represent a "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle *. * "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle is not driven. It would generally be in a museum or transported in an enclosed trailer to concourse judging and car shows. This type of car would be stored in a climate-regulated facility On Oct-21-10 at 08:13:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been getting questions about A/C and heat working and others... Yes the climate control A/C and heat work. power seats, mirrors, antenna, radio, and trunk pull down motor all work. I am out driving this car today 10/20 and it is sweet. I forgot how fun this car is to drive and how many heads it turns. I usually have the car in storage and rarely get to take it out. I really did pay $6000 for this car about 2 1/2 years ago and only drove it 3,000 miles or so. Its just my toy. I have to part with it because I have a 2 year old and no 4 door cars. 3 coupes. (not easy with carseat)- and the Allante is only a 2 seater. I just dont want to pay for storage anymore for something I do not get to enjoy. starting the bid at $2,000 I figured there would be more bids but not so far so whoever wins this car will end up getting a good deal. Thanks for looking!
