It has gasoline direct injection, the most advanced means of delivering fuel to the cylinders, and twin turbochargers that boost power to 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, or 45 horsepower and 80 pound-feet more than the 2007 530i. That's more power from a six-cylinder than the V8-powered 5 Series cars had a few years ago. From a stop or a high-speed roll, the 535i delivers as much torque or more than some thirstier V8-powered sedans. Off-the-line acceleration surpasses probably 80 percent of the vehicles on the road, and top speed exceeds anything you'll get away with anywhere outside desolate Nevada desert. Power delivery in the 535i is very linear, even with the turbochargers, meaning that you'll get the same response and acceleration whether the engine is turning 2500 rpm or 5000 rpm when you step on the gas. There's virtually no turbo lag in this engine. The BMW 535i is a true driver's car among mid-sized luxury sedans. Increased power and other improvements for 2008 only emphasize this. The 5 mixes comfort, performance, high-tech features and passenger-friendly accommodations in fairly compact package. Pair your phone with the car, and it shows your phone book contents. The Bluetooth hands-free cell phone system is top notch, it displays your cell phone's phone book plus recent calls. Its call quality is also very good. This vehicle shows no accident History on Carfax and after a very close inspection, we can confirm the vehicle does not have any post factory paintwork. It is arrow straight and dent free. The interior is generously optioned and is without doubt a non smokers interior. This vehicle was re-acquired by BMW of North America due to a High Pressure Pump malfunction. This malfunction exists in virtually 5 series ever produced. In the last week BMW has announced they will be recalling all of these vehicles for this issue. This particular vehicle has been properly repaired with the upgraded pump and unlike the recall vehicles, it has a 10 Year or 120k miles warranty extension on this part.
