Vehicle Detail

Thanks for looking. I am selling this car for my father-in-law. This 1998 Honda Civic is the HX model. This model was the most fuel efficient out of all the civics, from 10 to 20 percent better. The big difference from the other civics is that the HX has a "CVT" Continuously Variable Transmission. My understanding of this is that the Civic HX does not shift like a normal car. It is constantly changing to maintain the best torque range and optimal fuel efficiency. You never feel it shift (because it doesn't shift) it is just smooth. The HX model also has PGM-FI Fuel injection, VTEC variable valve timing that also helps with the fuel economy. I just bought a Prius 4 months ago or I would be buying this. It is a nice, fairly clean car. There are some cosmetic issues that you can see in the pictures. I am no mechanic but it seems to run really nice. There are no lights on that say you have problems. It did have a new transmission put in it back in 2006. My father in law is looking for all the paper work "maintenance stuff". It has an Alpine CD/mp3/ipod player. The ipod cord is in the glove box. However the front left speaker is not working and the antenna has a bend in it so the radio doesn't sound as good. The 1998 Honda Civic HX is sold as is with no warranty. Deposit of $300 is due within 48 hours to paypal account. Thanks again. If you have any questions just let me know. I took photos of the Invoice which can be found at this link along with some more photos: http://picasaweb.google.com/111218489672 They found a few problems that I had not noticed: 1. Lower Ball joint boot on right side tearing. I guess dirt might get into it. They said it is not really a big deal. 2. Left Front tire has cord showing on inside edge needs to be replaced. 3. Needs an alignment that is why the tire needs to be replaced. 4. Muffler needs to be replaced. I think it could just be welded back on. 5. Honda Dealer did not find this to be a problem, but I had them specifically look at it, however when you first take off in the civic it kinda of "chugs" or jerks a little. I don't really no how to describe it so I made a video. It might just be how this CVT Transmission works. I just don't want there to be any surprises when the winner picks the car up.
