Vehicle Detail
Classic Italian micro-mini car. This car has had a just completed frame up restoration. This car runs and drives great. Brakes work well, air cooled engine starts right up and the 4 speed manual gear shifting is tight and clean. Lights and gauges work. The gas tank is approximately 3 gallons, and it gets about 50-60 miles to the gallon. The engine is located in the rear compartment, and the battery, fuse box, and gas tank are in the front. This car is the European D version of the Fiat 500, with the suicide doors only found on the pre-1964 models. This car is unique among the Fiat 500s in that the rear roof/rear window panel can be removed and the long convertible soft top installed if desired (see pictures for an example this type of long top). The car is not sold with this long frame and top, but they can be found aftermarket with a little looking if you desire. The engine is the original D engine that came with the car, nicely rebuilt. The engine number is 110 D 000 632455. The tranny number is 110.000 970693. The following items are all new as part of the restoration: All new bumpers and bumper fittings New nice paint job, base coat with 3 coats of clear Newly rebuilt Fiat D 500 engine, including pistons and ringsNew thermostatNew air filter Newly cleaned and rebuilt carburetor New instrument cluster New ash tray Newly cleaned, boiled and refinished gas tank New flipback soft top New tie rod ends New tail light assemblies and lenses New headlights and headlight surround rubber New front Fiat grille emblem New rear license plate light assembly New blinker lenses, both front and sides New sun visors New carpet kit New seat cushions and seat vinyl New door panelsNew window glass rubber surrounds New POR undercoat rustproofing and rubberized undercoat New spark plugs & wiresNew distributor cap, rotor and pointsNew throttle cableNew choke cableNew dipstickNew output shaft seal New brake padsNew brake wheel cylindersNew heater hosesNew ignition switch and keysNew CV bootsNew rubber weatherstripping on doorsNew wiper blades The tires are bias tires, they are still in serviceable shape but show aging, they are not brand new but they are the original bias radial type that are the original type for the car. I did not replace them, as buyer's preference would dictate if buyer wants the original type tires for as a collector or a more modern driver tire. Both types of tires are easily available. The spare tire is in nice shape. The hubcaps are in decent shape and a have been buffed and polished, there are still a few minor dings on one. There is no key for the driver's door, one could be made fairly easily by a locksmith if you want that. The glass is in good shape, there are some minor scratches in a few places. The car does have an aftermarket Fiat sport O.B.A. brand steering wheel. Some very brief videos from rear and passenger side with car in idle. FOR A BRIEF LITTLE HISTORY ON ALL OF THE FIAT 500 CARS, INCLUDING THIS ONE, GO TO http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_500 The mileage listed above is the prior original odometer reading converted to miles as the odometers on the European versions read in kilometers. Since the instrument cluster, including the odometer, is near new and was replaced, it currently reads 613 kilometers. Obviously based on its restoration and the on the age of the car I cannot warrant odometer readings. This car is great fun to drive and always gets attention! Unlike many who sell cars on eBay, I try to be very descriptive about any known issues, so keep that in mind when bidding. The car is 40 plus years old, but is in great condition for the age. Parts for this car, if ever needed, are easily available in the US at www.fiatplus.com and at the eBay store http://stores.ebay.com/Everything-Fiat and some other locations in the US and online. This car does not require a smog test in California as 2 cylinder engines are exempt from testing in California. The car has a standard Utah title certificate and can be licensed and registered anywhere the same as any other used car you might purchase. I am a licensed and bonded car dealer and vintage car restorer in the State of Utah, Piccione's, #5869, which is important if you are financing the car through your bank, as dealer issued sales typically get lower interest rates than person to person sales. Financing is also available through eBay. Buyer pays for shipping (I can help arrange transport if you like, I have some cheap connections for various parts of the country), current rates run from 55 cents to 75 cents a mile depending on location and distance [further distances get lower rates]. Generally around $900 to the east coast and around $450 to the west coast. Payment may be by certified bank check or money order, by wire transfer to bank account, or by loan check or personal check once cleared. Paypal is only acceptable through verified accounts for the initial deposit only. The buyer will submit a 5% of purchase price deposit within 72 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle by PayPal or other verifiable payment method unless this requirement is waived by the seller after the auction end. Buyer agrees to pay the remaining balance due within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. Buyer is responsible (if applicable) for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered in. Vehicle is sold as is and does not have warranty.
