Vehicle Detail

1962 Impala SS Hardtop Previous auction was flagged yesterday by ebay for stupid "policy violation for mentioning more than one year in a AD", weird huh?, so hopefully this is acceptable. I am selling most of my project cars. I simply do not have enough time and due to a recent back injury, I seriously doubt I can continue my hobby as in years past, so I must sell them. So I pulled out all of my projects from the barns and on ebay they are going.... This is a REAL 1962 Impala SS. I bought this from a farmer who had it in a barn for sometime. When I bought it, it was not running. I installed a new gas tank, sending unit, spark plugs, fresh radiator fluid, oil change and cleaned up the points and she fired right up. It yard drives. It will drive right onto your trailer for transport. The car has the original 327 engine and Powerglide transmission. The car has power steering and power brakes, fairly rare for a 62 Impala SS. The body is in excellent shape. That is the reason I kept the car. It was a hard decision to sell this car. These cars are getting harder to come by with little rust. The pans in this car are in great shape. I could not find any rot. The trunk lower pan has had some previous work done on the lower pan, but that is always the case anyway on these cars. The mid and upper are in SUPER good shape! :) The front fenders are in great shape too and NO rust in the lower fenders, which us Impala guys know is a famous trouble spot. I guess that's why I like this car so much. Thr trunk lip does have rust pin holes. The roof is great no rust. There are NO stress cracks in the rear window area (another trouble spot). The quarters had been sanded down and body work started but never primed by the previous owner years ago, so surface rust took hold. The quarters are still in really good shape needing only minor attention there in no rot rust through and the pictures do NOT do it any justice. The passenger side rocker does have rust, and will need repair. PLEASE look at the pictures very carefully. The lower rockers had a trim moulding that I removed, to show the condition, there is no rust holes (except as stated above), just the mounting tabs for the rocker panel. The lower fender has the hole too where the lower rocker and it is not a rust hole, just a mounting hole/tab for rocker molding. I wish I had waited to take pictures on a sunny day. These pictures make the car look terrible and do it no justice. This car is a solid project car worthy of restoration. One last area that has rust is the driver door, about the size of a quarter. The car looks to have had the orignally been light blue. It was probably painted white in the 80's. I really like that light blue (Nasau Blue?) of early Gm cars. I think with a saddle tan interior kith this car would really pop! The car has the correct bucket seats, SS console and the SS grab bar intact! The car has not been stripped and is intact. The current interior had a 80's mexican tuck and roll job done to it. I think it is ugly as sin and I would replace it with a correct interior kit. Funny, the more I type this description, the more I am thinking about keeping it! Anyway, the glass is all good and no cracks or damage (less the drive vent window). The previous owner had a hydraulic set up in the car. The pumps and batteries are long gone, but the cylinders are still present. I removed the trunk (deck) lid, to replace a bad trunk hinge, but never got around to finishing it. I do have the deck lid and it is in great shape, less a little rust under the rear lip but no biggie, it is still really nice. The trunk seal lip is in great shape and 99% rust free. Well, I think I described her pretty darn good. If you got any questions, please email me and I will answer in a timely fashion. Oh, yeah the wheels do not convey, so bring some rollers. I have a lot of parts that can be sold affordably to the winner of this auction. You can poke around at my shop and see what intrests you (rechromed bumpers, a REAL SUN Tach, chromed power steering cylinder, sweet primo dash cluster etc etc). NO Buy it now. So please do not ask. Some lucky guy is going to get an awesome project. Now for the legal stuff....ONLY SERIOUS bidders. If you have bad feedback, don't bid, I will cancel your bid. An immediate non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is due at the end of the auction , NO EXCEPTION. The balance due within 3 days, NO EXCEPTION. It may be easier to just pay all at once immediately, but I will leave that up to the buyer. Those who do not comply will be reported to ebay. This is not a game. I have sold a lot of my car collection already. almost every buyer paid LATE and it is starting to torque me off. SO IF YOU CAN'T FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS OF MY AUCTION, DON'T BID!! The last buyer actually was a weenie and his wife told him he couldn't have it. So if you don't have your woman in check or your manhood intact, DON'T BID. Now, I am willing to store the car for up to a two weeks, then a $2.00 a day storage fee applies. I am nice guy with PERFECT FEEDBACK, and I like dealing with responsible ebayers! :) Good Luck and happy bidding!!
