Vehicle Detail

1972 Firebird project or parts car. Was in storage in garage for about 25 years. Had big block Chevy and 4 speed Muncie transmission until pulled recently. 12 bolt posi rear with 3.73 gears. Heavy/stiff (not stock) rear springs. Front suspension original except a larger sway bar from a Trans Am has been installed. Front sub frame in good condition, but rear frame rails have significant rust damage, and would likely need to be replaced/repaired. Gas tank most likely needs to be replaced also. Electrical system, brakes and power steering worked fine before car was put in storage, but have not been tested recently. Car is wired for trunk mounted battery. Core of original radiator was replaced with a new double core shortly before car went into storage, but it's unclear if radiator could be salvaged. Autometer tach and gauges were new shortly before car went into storage, but gauges have not been tested recently. Metallic blue paint. Hooker fiberglass fender flares and front spoiler have been molded into body. Fiberglass L88 hood and fiberglass whale tail rear trunk lid. Original trunk lid and spoiler available (good condition, but in primer). Some small cracks in paint on hood and where flares are molded into body. Some paint cracks in upper surfaces where front bumper is molded into front quarter panels (flexible auto body filler was used to mold bumper to quarter panels, but paint layer cracked. Some cracks in paint on top of front bumper. Some paint bubbles in passenger rear quarter panel behind passenger side window. Lip of driver's side rear wheel well was rusted out before flare was molded on, but repair appears to still be OK. Rust damage (a hole about 4-5 inches in diameter, as I recall) in driver's side rocker panel was also repaired before car was put into storage, but appears to still be OK. As I recall, the passenger side rear quarter panel was brazed on, and appeared to be a replacement panel installed due to impact. Interior is original except for carpet that was installed shortly before car went into storage. Cracks in seat upholstery. There appears to be at least some mold on interior components.
