1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT convertible in great driver condition. Does not have original motor or trans but does have a very strong 351 Cleveland and C6 trans which were both built less than 1000 miles ago( have all receipts). Also new water pump, alternator and billet brackets. At same time front disc brakes were added and a set of 15" wheels and tires to clear the discs. New fuel tank and lines and pump. New full exhaust in 2.5" tubing. Complete new interior and top approx 3 years ago. Power top and it works perfectly! Motor has full Mallory ignition system, edelbrock intake and Demon carb and runs VERY strong indeed! C6 was rebuilt stock with a 2200 stall converter and the 9" has I believe 3.00.1 gears in it. Car drives down the road very well indeed and although the brakes are not power the addition of the front discs has greatly improved brake performance. Body of the car is fair to good with an old paint job that is showing its age, she was originally red. Worst part of the car is the bottom of the drivers rear quarter as you can see in the pix and will need a patch panel to be right. Underneath looks to be fairly solid, some surface rust as to be expected but no holes or rot. As you can also see in pix a box of parts and the two rocker mouldings for the car are included. All in all a very nice cruiser than can be and has been a daily driver or go all out and restore to her former glory! This will be a no reserve auction so please ask all questions before you bid. All the electrical items work lights, blinkers, wipers etc. There is no heater at all. There is no speedo, no I dont mean it does not work, I mean it is missing entirely! Has just oil, water and volt gauges in the dash. Holds 60psi oil pressure when cruising at 65mph even on hot sunny Florida days and 180 degree water temp all day long, at idle she reads 30psi. Has an aftermarket cd radio in dash and speakers mounted up under the dash where the glove box used to be. Tires have less than 500 miles on them! When disc brakes were fitted a proportioning valve for brake balance was also fitted and this was routed under dash so you could alter it while driving if you wished...just like a cup car....lol!
