Vehicle Detail
I want to take a moment to say hi to my dear friend SweetPea, and thank you for helping so much in the last few weeks. Excellent pro touring foundation. This is a rolling shell only. It is rust free, very solid and square. The entire front clip including the doors are all original GM sheet metal and in very good condition. The front fenders, skirts and core support have been media blasted and primered but the rest of the car has not been media blasted. We have put a seal coat primer on the areas that will end up concealed from view (grey primer) and a guide coat primer (red primer) on the exterior and final visible areas because you will need to skim coat and final block and re-primer these areas when you get it. The current primer was done to protect it from the environment and to make it look more presentable. The sub-frame is in good condition as well. Includes all glass except the windshield and drivers door glass. All window glass regulators are included I just don't have the drivers door glass. The top frame is also included and is in very good condition. There is no motor or transmission and no interior. But if you are going to do a pro touring car you will want to customize all that anyway. This is a very early (built second week of Sep 1966) with sequence number 7070 out of over 220,000 sold in 1967. I have included close photos of the trim tag and VIN plate. This car has been verified by the CA DMV but cannot be registered (at least in CA) until it is a "complete" car, (whatever they mean by that?) I have some old bumpers for it as well. I have owned and looked at dozens of first gen convertibles and it is nearly impossible to find one that is rust free unless it has already been restored or it has been babied for the last 40 years and we know that those guys want at least $25k for those cars. This one is as good as any I've seen for sale in the last 6 months. If you want to jump right into building a car and not have to do all the dirty work of rust and panel replacement than this one is the perfect car for you. I'm selling this car simply because I now have 2 of them. I sold my 68 that was 3/4 done back in 2006 and recently re-acquired it. I am building the 68 but if this one doesn't sell then I will start to build this one as well and I will keep re-listing it as it improves each time (more body work, partial interior and stuff like that). But of course as it improves the price will go up. It is only a 5 day auction and each time a re-list it I will do a 5 day auction but the price will go up each time. So grab it now while it is at it's lowest price. I reserve the right to sell locally and cancel this auction at anytime. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for bidding
