Vehicle Detail
1977 VW Rabbit I've owned his Rabbit for 6 years. Purchased completely stock in dry eastern Washington. I selected this car as it is wearing original Panama Brown paint, and basically rust free condition. The body has its share of nicks and scratches. I didn't paint it as I think it has a nice patina'd look, plus they are only original once. Since purchase the car has been taken apart and mechanicals gone through and upgraded. Details provided below. Body: Floors stripped, surface rust was found on driver pan only, rust sanded out, floors coated with POR-15 then with sound deadener. Original Paint Chrome Mirrors Chrome Door Handles Chrome Rain Gutter Trim Chrome Rocker Moldings Chome/Black Side Moldings Chrome Bumpers Front Versatech Spoiler - Flexible ABS plastic Kamei Original Decals Original Lights Interior: Original Dash - couple small cracks and one bow, very presentalbe Original AM/FM Radio Scirocco Gauge cluster with Tach - Note speedometer hooked up but is not working Scirocco Center console with guages Recaro - Early '80's Recaros in matching brown cloth, good condition, 2 tears on drivers seat. Original rear seat Original parcel shel Original door panels, uncut Original carpet Original Headliner NOS dealer accessory matching floor mats Momo Steering wheel Kamei Golf Ball shift know Engine/Trans: 2.0 16V - Completely rebuilt. Short block built by Dynamic Racing Solutions in California. Overbored to 2035cc with new pistons, bearings, oil pump, etc. Engine was balanced, runs incradibly smooth. Head built by SoCal Cylinder Heads, stage 3 port and polish, new valves and all parts, Techtontics 268/276 blend cam set. All new poly engine mounts Lightened flywheel New Clutch New Pressure Plate Close ratio 5spd - From Rabbit GTI code 4K New Alternator Rebuilt Starter Scirocco 16V Exhaust Manifold Techtonics Scirocco 16V Racing Downpipe Superspring 60mm Race Exhaust - Not to loud, sounds great Suspension/Brakes: FK Coilovers - Adjustable with Koni inserts New Stock rubber control arm bushings and rear beam busings New Stock rubber Rear Shock mounts Rebuildable front strut mounts New ball joints Shine Racing Rear Sway Bar AutoTech Front Upper Stress Bar Scirocco 16V brake conversion, pedal assembly, booster and master cylinder. 10.1" Cross drilled front rotors, new calipers 8.1" Cross drilled rear rotors, good used calipers New stainless brake lines Fuchs Forged Le Castellete 15" alloys - Never available in US, ordered these wheels from Germany New Nitto 195/50/15's Car runs, drives, handles and stops well. The engine make great power and is unbelievably smooth, even with the poly bushings. No knocks, clunks or squeaks from the suspension. The FK's ride very well, not harsh but very controlled. The Scirocco brakes work very well in the light Rabbit. I've put about 2000 miles on the car over the last 6 years. It's strictly a fun car for me. It's been garaged during my ownership. The only issues with the car are the integration of the painless wiring harness. The wipers and heater blower have not been hooked up. The car has an intermitent hot start problem I have not been able to track down. Starts perfect cold. Selling as it is time to move on to another project. I have a ton of money in this car. The reserve is set at what I paid for the engine. If I can't at least get that the car can stay in my garage. See below for payment info. No warranties.
