Vehicle Detail
I bought this Willys for my ex-husband for his 60th birthday. He never appreciated this fine car so he gave it back to me; what a nitwit. I have over $15,000 in this baby and have kept all of my repair/restoration receipts. This is a semi-restored original Willys Wagon that has been well maintained. The mileage is actual, and it drives as good as it looks, but it is not a mint vehicle. The faux-wood painting is getting dull and chipping, but it still looks great. There is very minor rust on the frame, but I could find no spots that have bubbled through. This wagon was originally driven in Montana, made its way to Minnesota, and then Virginia, where it was driven daily by an elderly attorney. The interior is unbelievable. The seats are still near perfect and clean, and the headliner is uncut and in perfect condition. The cargo compartment has the original wood slats. I had the dash gauges restored and converted the windshield wipers to electric. At some point in the vehicle's history, the electrical system was converted to 12 volt. The original Hurricane In-Line 6 engine is in perfect shape, having been tuned up last year. New Willys alternator, distributor, and carbuerator rebuild. I had new carpeting installed, too, which looks great with the green and white interior. I just love the little underseat, locked compartments. Perfect for whatever you want to stash there! I used to keep all of my secret financial statements on the passenger side, so my husband never knew what I was up to, financially speaking. The wheel covers are from a later model. They came with the vehicle, they look good, so I left them on. This has to be one of the best preserved original Willys wagons of this vintage I've seen. It comes with copies of the owner's manual and repair manual. There is a guy in Maine who has every model and part Willys ever made, and will introduce you to him if you buy this little darlin'. We had a terrible winter last year here in Central VA and this baby had no problem with deep snow on my steep driveway (w/ 3 switchbacks). This is the perfect car to keep at your Colorado ski home or your beach house in the Hamptons. It has ever so much more class than a Grand Wagoneer! Payment will require a $500.00 deposit via pay pal within two days of the completion of the auction, or immediatly if the buy it now option is chosen. Full payment will be required within seven days of the end of the auction. I will accept a cashiers check. I have a clear Virginia title which will be released once funds are clear. I will attempt to answer any questions that you might have. Remember, this is an unrestored vehicle. It is sold as a collectors vehicle, and therefore has no guarantee or warranty. I can help arrange shipping, but ultimately it is the responsibility of the buyer. Feel free to ask questions. Good Luck!
