Vehicle Detail
1978 Chevrolet G10 Pro-Street Van Short Wheelbase No Windows The van came here from California three years ago and has been stored during the winter months. The body is completely free of any rust issues and is very clean underneath. Areas of Body Damage Ø Dent near right tail light (see photo). Ø Damaged right front fender (see photo). Ø Dings in grill surround (see photos). Ø Dent in roof above rear doors (see photos). Ø Plastic from damage repair cracking on left rear door (see photos). Ø Tube grill has surface rust in hard-to-get areas. Ø Normal paint chips and wears for an older paint job. Other Body Info Ø Nice chrome bumpers front and rear. Ø Very nice (metal) rear fender flares. Ø Recessed tail lights. Ø Blacked out marker lights. Ø Bottoms of all doors are like brand new. Ø All glass is crack and pit-free. Side glass is tinted. Ø Duplex sunroof in front (center light missing bulb and lens). Ø Sliding side door works very well. Top slide bracket extended to clear fender flares. Underneath Very clean underneath with no rust scale. You can tell it has been in a warm climate all of its life. Rear wheel tubs and fuel tank modifications were done professionally and look very good. Ø Power steering. Ø The steering and front suspension is tight and passed a Maine State inspection with no issues. Ø The rear suspension is leaf sprung with coil over type shocks. Ø Rear disc brakes (emergency brake operational). Axle seal weep on left side. Ø Narrowed Currie Enterprises 9” Ford rear axle assembly. Ø New power brake master cylinder. Wheels/Tires Ø Front = BF Goodrich Radial T/A P225/70/R15 on centerline Convo-Pro style aluminum wheels. The tires are in near new condition. The wheels look decent but could use a good polishing. Ø Rear = Mickey Thompson Sportsman 33X19.50 – 15 LT on centerline Convo-Pro style aluminum wheels. The tires are brand new and still have the little nipples sticking out on the face of the tire. The wheels look decent but could also use a good polishing. Engine The motor is believed to be the original 350 cubic inch motor. It has a solid lifter cam and starts and runs good. Some chrome goods. Ø Chrome valve covers, air cleaner, water neck and alternator brackets. Ø Aluminum intake w/Rochester Quadrajet carb. Ø Roller Rockers. Ø Billet aluminum water pump and crankshaft pulleys. Ø New water pump and alternator. Ø Dual 12” electric fans on a factory 4-core radiator (motor runs between 180o and 210o). Transmission Believed to be the original turbo 350. Ø Runs out good and shifts tight. No slippage under acceleration. Ø Fluid looks good and red and does not smell burnt. Ø Kickdown linkage is there but not hooked up. Ø Crisp shifts, shift kit installed. Exhaust Tight with no leaks and in good condition. Sounds throaty but not loud. Ø Tube-style full length headers. Ø 2-½ aluminized pipe with equalizer tube. Ø Turbo style mufflers. Ø Chrome tips dump out in front of rear tires. Interior The interior of this van was completely done by a professional and is very nice. Ø No A/C or heater. Ø Step plates for side doors are aluminum diamond plate. Ø Thick pile black carpet on floor in good condition. Piping installed throughout. Ø Front buckets from a Chrysler van in tan vinyl. (There is a 1.5” burn hole in the back of the passenger side headrest.) Ø Headliner is a tan velour with ribbing. The center of the headliner is vinyl insert with a rocket pattern. Ø Overhead console with eight switches. Two momentary and six regular control switches. None of the switches are hooked up to anything at this time. There are two tan sun visors mounted underneath the console. Ø Lost of gauges in the dash. Speedometer not working but is brand new (no cable), 8,000 RPM tach works, fuel gauge not hooked up, transmission temperature not hooked up, cylinder head temperature not hooked up, volt gauge works, water temp works, oil temp works, oil pressure works. All gauges match and are Auto-Meter. Ø Factory steering wheel with tilt. Horn doesn’t work. Ø All lights and wipers work. Ø Sony AM/FM/CD player with one Bose speaker in front footwell. There is plenty of room for improvement there. Ø Rocker switch beside ignition switch for cooling fan operation. Ø Front doors have 2-piece (upper & lower) vinyl panels with a recessed design. Ø Various wooden storage cabinets in back with counter space. Ø Various lighting in back which is not hooked up. Ø Side sliding door has three vinyl panels with recessed designs. Ø Rear doors have large 1-piece vinyl panels with recessed designs. Ø 2” square tube roll-type gauge in rear area of van. On a scale of 1 to 10, overall this van is a solid 7.0. It stays in the garage and I drive it once in awhile. It goes down the road nice. Right now I have six vans and I’m going to sell a couple before winter hits. It does leak some oil, most of it seems to come from the PCV tube, which is routed down along the bell housing and dumps to the ground. I think it should be piped to the air filter. Valve covers may leak a little also. The water neck weeps antifreeze from time to time. The van is not perfect but it is very nice. Any questions call John at (207) 737-4410. If you can come look at it in person that would be best.
