Vehicle Detail
Up for auction from private owner is a nice looking little Subaru Forester L series AWD (all wheel drive). Power windows, power locks, air conditioning, air bags. This has been a great vehicle for us-one of three Foresters we have had (this 99 Forester now for sale, the 2004 Forester that goes to work everyday-my wifes car & the 1998 Forester we sold after we bought our 2004 Forester). We live in cold weather & snow environment (Montana) about 40 miles from our work location thus our continued use of these great vehicles. Features; *4 X 4 *Front Bucket Seats *Interior Hood Release *Passenger airbag *Power Brakes *Power locks *Power Mirrors *Power Steering *Power windows *Rear Defroster *Tilt Steering Column *Fog Lamps *5-Speed Manual *Air conditioning *AM/FM Stereo *Anti-lock brakes *Center Arm Rest *Cloth Upholstery *Cup Holders *Driver airbag *Dual Power Mirrors *Floor Mats Now for this unit in particular. I purchased this vehicle used in late 2003 with about 80000 miles (second known private owner). We have used it as a drive-to-work vehicle since then. It was used specifically on days or seasons when ice/snow/traction could be an issue and many other days I just wanted a more comfortable or air conditioned drive. On nice clear days I drove my 40mpg go-cart with cab & heater (AKA Ford Festiva) just because of increased fuel mileage. The Forester has served us well and now has 173,000 miles on it. Like any vehicle after time a mechanical problem may arise and so it did with this car. The transmission is slipping out of 5th gear and from what we understand this will require a transmission rebuild or replacement. We have elected to sell as-is and possibly not replace as I have now retired and do not have the same demands for a 24/7 all weather vehicle to get to work. Besides I still have my Festiva (that's not saying much) plus 2 Ford ranger pickups & crew cab 4X4. (If any of you viewers has a very good, low mileage transmission out of a 1999 that you want to sell reasonably, I would entertain that type of reverse offer. The vehicle is definetely nice enough to fix up.) We are selling this vehicle as having a known transmission problem. A clutch replacement would also be advisable while the transmission was out. As can be seen in the pictures, this vehicle is fairly clean, straight body, minor door dings but no major damage. It is totally repairable and would again make a great work car or student car. It gets approx 24mpg, tires are fair (matched tires), interior is pretty good, has soom extras that go with it. For what it is worth, the pictures of the vehicle were taken without detailing the exterior or interior. We had given the exterior a basic water wash & nothing else-no wax or touch up of any kind. I prefer to show you pictures of the unit just as it was being used. The vehicle is located 40 miles west of Billings, Montana (Columbus) and may remain here for approx 60 days beyond sale as long as it is paid for. Shipping or delivery of any kind is the responsibility of the buyer. [There are some very limited possibilities of delivery to Bismarck, North Dakota or Denver, Colorado contingent upon my schedule & timeline. Cost would be .75/loaded mile---~$375 + or - based on 500 miles. Vehicle payment would have to be made prior to any possible delivery--contact for details.] No warranty of any kind is expressed or implied. This vehicle is for sale locally, thus sale may end early & without notice. Payment must be made within 7 days of auction close. The vehicle may not leave the premises until fully paid for neither will title be transferred until payment has been made and cleared. If you have zero feedback contact me prior to bidding. Loading is no problem as vehicle starts, runs, can be driven (just slips out of 5th gear). We reccommend loading & trailering the vehicle as we are not certain of the ramifications of extended driving. Please ask any questions early so we have opportunity to reply in a timely fashion. I tried to include pictures from most all angles but if you have a particular question or picture you need, let me know & I will try to accommodate.
