For Sale 1968 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible 1968 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible, 350 V8 - 2 barrel carb, Automatic, Power steering, Power brakes, 48,000 original miles, original AM/FM radio but not working. Has black interior bucket seats, mostly all original, carpet dated OCT 1967 interior and top believed to be original. However the top is now in the stage it will need replacing, it is starting to tear wear the molding corners and has had a 2X2 patch done years ago. The weather stripping is also in good shape with the exception of some pieces cracking on the top along the side window edges. The interior is in good shape no tears in seats and carpet needs to be re-dyed just starting to fade some. Body has small slight rust starting in corners of fenders, the right front probably from battery tray, and one in the quarter panel, the quarters have not been replaced or patched that I can tell. There are small dents in left rear corner of body at bumper area and dent in left front fender, the floors and trunk are solid and original and are not rusted, however there is some slight surface rust starting in the trunk from some moisture, the original trunk paint and liner are still in good shape, and the jack and spare are there also. Front and rear bumpers do need some straitening and re-chromed but still in good shape, body had been repainted years ago. The original color was a silver/green color but the re-spray was done very well, hard to tell but is now showing it’s age. Last Time up for Auction Get this American Classic while you can Reduced Reserve Price!!!! Engine and transmission is pretty much untouched and has not had any major work. I have put a water pump and valve cover gaskets on it and it starts up and runs really quiet and smooth. I had planned to tune it up this spring but performs great right now. The car is in good drivable condition and is very dependable, unfortunately it sits in the garage more than I drive it; we probably put 500 miles on it in the past year or so. Moving and loosing storage space. Overall car will make easy restoration and needs a good home.
