1994 Caprice with rare GAM code government spec.vehicle.Was with the FBI 90% of its life as a take home car,so no holes drilled in the body.Still retains 100% of its factory paint.Has the V92 tow pac with 2.93 posi,and B4U sport performance pac which included a leather wrapped steering wheel.An 85 year old man hit the left front last month,as seen in the photos.I bought a newer diesel truck and am selling this as is.In the last 6-9 months Ive personally done the following,aside from basic maintenance: New rod and crank bearings,new torque converter in its GM goodwrench rebuilt transmission that was installed by the FBI @160K,new fluid and filter/gasket in trans,battery,water pump,optispark distributor with cap and rotor,front shocks and stabilizer links,front pads,engine oil cooler block to housing gaskets,complete new A/C system including new not rebuilt compressor,pressure hoses,acumulator receiver and dryer with inline filter(ice cold on the hottest day)New tires on front,very good on rear.I installed a 1996 Impala ss stereo cd head unit with sony rear speakers under the stock covers.Sounds as good as a high end unit.A finger on the torque converter lock up clutch had broken off,and exactly imitated a rod knock.I removed the original crank and rod bearings and they miked as new.Not the problem.So, I removed the trans and found the converter problem.Thats the reason for all the new lower end bearings and new converter.Quiet as a mouse now.I was stunned at how perfectly clean and wear free the inside of the engine was.I would have easily believed it to be a very low mileage engine.Fleet maintenance scheduales followed strictly,its entire life dictates longevity.Interior is clean with no rips or tears,and a perfect headliner.Drivers footwell area rug is worn.Engine trans and rear are bone dry.I hate fluid leaks and repair them immediately,if needed. What she could use or needs: left outer fender and marker light.Small repair to hood,and resin or replace the bumper cover.Id repair it.Digital speedo typically flashes blinks and dissappears from time to time as they all do at this age.It is a certified speedo.The cruise control never worked for me and I never looked into it.The pass key light comes on at times and stays on at times.I believe the ignition key is getting old.I only have one.Every 45 starts or so it goes into theft mode and you have to wait exactly 3 minutes for the pcm to accept the starter input to start.Happens very very rarely,and a new key would probably correct this.Not problematic enough or often enough for me to act.Only rust issue is very lower right quarter panel behind wheel.Was from a leaky trunk seal,and collected water low in that well and rusted from the inside out.Not too bad yet,(see photos comparing both lower panels to get a better idea).She has the usual door dings and some light scratches,on her hood and trunk from what I would suspect was a Police or FBI hater..Please only buy if you intend to complete this.She is not a new or perfect car.There certainly are lower mileage 5.7 Caprices for sale for alot more money,but they wont run any better than this one.I make no promises at all.She is sold as is.I would drive her any distance anywhere anytime.Shes rock steady,and smooth at any speed.Pulls hard at 115 mph+
