Vehicle Detail
1947 Dodge 1/2 ton pick-up. This is a west coast manufactured truck (I only populated part of the serial number). Produced in Los Angeles. As you will see, it needs work. It runs and sounds smooth. NO BRAKES - as the lines, etc are shot. (I have a video of it running - as I type this I do not know if I can upload it - if not ask and I will email) You will see the passenger side of the truck says Everett School District. When I bought the truck, I rang them up and they indicated that it was indeed their truck. It served as a maintenance vehicle. What you see is what you get. Three wheels have the hubcap clips, one does not. Wood bed is missing. Gas tank is shot but I hung a gravity feed mower tank with a shut off. New plugs, wires, points, battery, coil. Will assist with getting her loaded onto a truck. Buyer to arrange pick-up, shipping, etc. Questions - ask. No interior except for the seats that you see (rough). On Sep-18-10 at 18:21:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I could not get all of my pictures posted. Ask and I will send them out. Vehicle does not have a title. Everett School District is in Washington State There is no rear window glass, and the door glass will require replacement. On Sep-19-10 at 08:28:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Please check back as I will be updating with more information from time to time. It has been converted to 12v. Lights do not work. Did I mention that it starts? Why am I selling? This was to have been my last project (after 2 others). I found a 46 that was further along and shifted gears. This needs a new home and I need/want the space. Questions...ask (I will answer to the besty of my ability. Want more pictures...ask. I will not end the auction early. As you can see, someone has bid so it will be sold. It isn't for sale locally, or on some other board. On Sep-19-10 at 15:10:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Took more pictures of the underside and of the hood ornament. Ask/send email address if you are interested. On Sep-21-10 at 09:36:25 PDT, seller added the following information: More questions/points. I have additrional pictures of the underside for those that want them. Will be taking up close pics of the stainless and hood ornament. Since the ornament is chrome, it has pitting, but nothing dramatically huge. The stainless has some dents, I will check for cracks. All of the attaching bolt heads are rusted (as the photos will bear out). Anyone that wants these pictures should ask. Be sure to check the questions - as I am posting all EXCEPT those that contain a cellular number. In those cases, I have updated the description. On Sep-21-10 at 16:10:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Did not notice any splits in the stainless. Regarding the question concerning the roofline. Google some 47 pick up images for confirmation that this is indeed the way the truck was built. Lots of other pictures to send if anyone wants them.On Sep-21-10 at 17:17:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Questions: 1. Some of the title companies require a notorized Bill of Sale - will I provide one (since there isn't a title). Answer - yes 2. How long have I had the vehicle? Answer - I acquired it in March of 2007 3. Is there a VIN? Answer - Not in the sense of newer vehicles. My 46 uses the serial number. Model A's I have had used the motor number. On Sep-23-10 at 07:49:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Many thanks to those of you that have requested either the video of it running....or the additional pictures. Eventually, the auction will get to a point where I can no longer make adjuistments to the description. But you can still submit questions. I will be on-line three hours prior to the end of the auction to answer any last minute questions (or to shoot and dash off a last minute picture). Best of luck. Congratulations early to the ultimate winner. She's a good truck. On Sep-23-10 at 11:41:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Question - does the radiator leak. Answer - NO.On Sep-23-10 at 11:45:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Question - Has the vehicle set outside since acquired? Answer - NO. In some of the pictures you will see what looks like black plastic underneath the truck. That is the base of an 18' outdoor car capsule (air was flowing over it). It began to rot, I took it off when I decided to sell. It has been uncovered for about 5 weeks (with a tarp over the cab because of the missing glass). On Sep-24-10 at 10:50:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Question - Do the wipers work? ANSWER - No, but the units are behind the "doors" which would be behind the sun visors - if there were any. (Also, one of you out there got to hear it start in real time as I attempted the test) Question - Any heavy bondo? ANSWER - No (The same guy that heard the motor start got to hear me walk around slapping a magnet on the fenders and lower doors/cab. Magnet didn't fall off.) Later today I will go out and put into 1st and reverse to confirm that it shifts. I'll film it. On Sep-24-10 at 16:19:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Pictures available with magnets hanging from the truck
