Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1979 Chevrolet K-10 4x4 The welder pictured in the bed of the truck is not included in this auction! I would say that this truck is in decent shape. There are many pictures detailing all rust areas on the vehicle. I added captions to the pictures indicating where rust is located. The truck is 31 years old, it by no means looks like it did when it rolled off the assembly line. This is just the family's "ol' farm truck" We have accumulated too many vehicles over the years and the wife is forcing me to thin out my collection. You will find rust in the typical areas on this vehicle, behind the fender wells, rocker panels, bottoms of the doors, edges of floor, bottom corners of the windshield. The rust is not out of control and easily fixed with with any of they widely availible repair kits for this issue. I just do not have the time to mess with it, and I personally consider this some added character for the truck. The drive side door is a little hard to close, the hinges need to be adjusted. The Truck has a 350ci, 400 turbo trans, NP203 with conversion kit which makes it part time 4wd. The 4wd is fully functional in both high and low ranges. I installed new manual hubs a few months back. Since then, the truck has been driven less than 50 miles. I suppose that is why I chose this vehicle to sell, it rarely gets used. The interior has been touched up a bit. I recovered the factory dash. It had numerous cracks and it was red. It was recovered with a black fleece type material. I chose this because it was stretchy and easy to work with. I installed some new gauges in the dash. It has new volt, water temp, oil pressure, and tach. The temp and oil pressure are manual gauges. The factory speedometer and fuel gauge do work. The truck has bucket seats installed in it. The original bench seat was literally falling to pieces and unsalvageable. I had plans of building a center console to go between the seats, but again, didn't have the time. The floor of the truck has roll on bed coating. I chose this because it is simple to clean it out when dragging mud in off your boots. All lights work on the truck, including turn signals. It does not have a horn. The wipers work. I put a new heater core in it when I bought it. Heat controls do not work, full on, all the time. It does have different fan speeds. I was planning to put a simple cut off valve in one of the hoses for summer time, but again never got to it. It has 33 inch tires on it. There is not a lot of tread remaining, but for what I have used the truck for, they were fine. I have never had it out playing in the mud, just driving it around the farm, and to town occasionally. The engine runs good, but is sometimes hard to start if it has been siting for a while. Nothing has to be done, just gotta pump the gas a bit. I put a new starter on it a while back. The transmission shifts smoothly thru all gears. The kick down cable is not hooked up to the carb, the bracket it runs to is bent a little and I have not straightened it or replaced it. This isn't an issue unless you plan to run the mess out of it down the interstate. The edelbrock carb is leaking a little gas, just enough to keep it damp. I am sure that it is a little out of time, but it is close to where it should be. It will start and run, but it could use some fine tuning by someone who actually knows what they are doing. It puffs a little white smoke on start up. When I bought the truck in 2008 I was told that the bottom end of the engine was recently rebuilt. I do not have documentation on this and the guy I bought if from died a few weeks later. I think that I have covered most everything here. If you would like to know more, feel free to contact me. Please review the pictures, they may give a better idea of the trucks condition. I provide no warrenty on this vehicle, express or implied. what you see is what you get. I reserve the right to end this auction early, this vehicle is also listed for sale locally. This item is local pick up only, unless you arrange and pay for your own transportation of the vehicle. I may be able to help you contact a company in this area which could deliver. I prefer cash at time of pick up to expedite the title transfer. At time of pick up please bring all the forms that you will need to title the vehicle in your state so that we can make this process as simple as possible. Most county clerks can provide these at little or no charge.
