Vehicle Detail

Up for your consideration is a rare 1952 Cadillac Fleetwood. 50th anniversary! Only 16,110 produced. The car currently DOES NOT RUN. I purchased the car about 4 years ago with full intentions of a complete restoration but as many of us know, total restorations are a very difficult task. Two new daughthers, a third child on the way, and 2 Cadillacs later, I've come to the conclusion that it will probably be a while before I am able to fully pamper the car the way it deserves. I bought the vehicle from the second owner. I have a copy of the previous owner's title dating back to 1971. He owned the car for 30 plus years until his passing. I purchased the car from his son and widow in an estate sale. The car was fully functional minus the radio and antenna when I purchased the Caddy. The ol' Cadillac 331 engine did run. I took it out to a few local cruise-ins and people just loved it. They could all definately see her potential. The engine has never been rebuilt to my knowledge. She was definately tired and I noticed her lack in power. My original plan was to perform minor repairs here and there but as we all know, one thing led to another. Next thing I know, the engine was basically stripped down with only the engine block still mounted in the compartment. The engine compartment still has the original O.K Date stamp and factory transmission sticker. I do make sure to spin the crankshaft often to keep her free. The Caddy is a factory two tone green and was painted sometime ago by previous owner. She is 100% complete very original right down to the sombrero hubcaps and bias ply white wall tires that still hold air with no problems. Even the red jack spring hold down is still mounted in the trunk. The car is solid and was undercoated sometime ago by previous owners or factory. I did see one area of rust on the small section that joins the trunk pan to the bumper area. Not totally sure but it looks like the piece can be unbolted and a new section installed. The actual trunk looks and feels good. I ran my magnets around the car and did notice the passenger side lower fender had some minor work done to it. All stainless on the car is excellent. The chrome and potmetal will need replateing. Glass is excellent all the way around with no cracks or scratches. Power windows and seats were operational the last time I drove the car. I would say that the interior is in very very nice original condition. No cracks at all on the steering wheel. The dash is excellent. The headliner is excellent. Even the rear package tray is still fully intact. The front seat has seat cover that came from the factory. I have never removed the seat cover. The rear seat is also excellent minus a rip along the seam of the bottom cushion. Door panels also look good minus the drivers side panel which looks to have been replaced at one point with an inaccurate match. As mentioned above, the engine is currently taken apart but I do have every part! Nothing is missing! I can't think of anything else at the moment. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I am not here to ripp anyone off or mislead anyone. Overseas bidders are welcome. I will assist with shipping in any possible way but full payment must be recieved before hand. I am proud of my 100% feedback and take it seriously. I am a member of the CLC and welcome any inspection. I really am in the position where I need to sell the car. I can be reached at 719-325-6146On Sep-16-10 at 20:07:03 PDT, seller added the following information: 16 September 2010: I added a couple of pictures of the trunk area and five pictures of the bottomside of the Cadillac. Take note of the undercoating that was sprayed throughout the entire bottom side of the Caddy. This helpled preserve the car very well. I also posted a pic of the small section of rust on the rear trunk section panel that was mentioned in the description above. On Sep-17-10 at 05:51:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I just wanted to clarify that the spare tire compartment is actually lined with three pieces of leather. I noticed from the pictures that the spare tire welll/compartment looks old and rusty but it is not. The leather is just dirty. The area is actually solid.
