---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1979 Mercedes-Benz 250 Interior Color: Royal Blue Exterior Color: Silver Mileage: 76694 Style: 4 Door Euro German Road Sedan Transmission: Automatic Engine: 6 Cylinder Performance VIN: 1237200037 To see many, many, photos please go to this address:--------- http://www.autocircuit.com/mercedes--------------- Description: Up for auction is this very nice Mercedes-Benz. I own a small North Carolina Business putting cars on Craigslist for local dealers. I help a certain dealer in Fuquay-Varina, NC and he recently traded for this beauty! Rather than pushing it on Craigs I asked him if we could list it on Ebay for more national exposure, as I rarely see this kind of car, he agreed. I have posted a ton of photos, spare parts, and extensive records, most of which are written in Deutch. Here is what I know. Dwight says that an Army Corporal stationed in Germany bought this thing new, he moved back to Ft. Bragg, which is roughly 20 miles from here. He garaged it and took very good care of it until 2.5 years ago he sold it to an elderly gentlemen in the area. The older gentlemen garaged it and and took good care of it ( the records attest to this ). Well a few weeks ago he came to Dwight and traded it in on a nearly new Cadillac Sedan DeVille, and here it sits! It is a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 250. It is a gas engine, Inline 6-Cylinder ( I reckon a 2.5 liter??? ) It has a verified 76k Miles on it and it is in very, very, nice condition. Most everthing is written in German on the car and in the records. Even the factory fire extingusher under the front seat is printed in German. The headlights had to be changed to be acceptable in the U.S. and the radio had to be removed as it would not pick up the stations here. ( the original radio has been saved in the trunk,..see the photos ) It has a very unique cloth interior, hand crank windows and door locks, no cruise control and no air-conditioning. Like I said this is a real collectors item. I have been doing my job for many, many, years and I have come across quite a few 240D's and 300D's, with the MB texture and cruise and air that barely works, but nothing ever like this diamond!. Anyway I took about 160 photos of this classic, you are welcome to call Mr. Dickens and ask any questions you may have, we are hosting a 10 day No-Reserve auction event, so high bidder will take ownership. Rather than list this on Craigslist for 8-10k$ we are just going to let the market take it for what it's worth. We are very honest and will answer any questions you may have.
