Vehicle Detail

I purchased my first Honda CB 750 new in 1975 when I was a youngster. After riding small bikes since I was 16 this bike was a real eye opener with its 4 cylinder power and disc brakes. It was the baddest thing on two wheels until Kaw decided to up the ante! I have had lots of bikes over the years, including the mighty CBX, but there is only one Honda CB750. In 1979 Honda decided to make the perfect motorcycle even better and changed the to motor to the high performance double overhead cam (DOHC) configuration. If you have owned the both the SOHC and DOHC versions you know that the DOHC version runs like a rocket in comparison. This is a turnkey bike so if you are looking for a project this bike is not for you. It is as dependable as a new Honda. There are many 750’s out there, but sadly most are abused or neglected examples. This bike has been babied and has always been stored indoors. But you can see that for yourself clearly in the detailed pictures. This is a very collectible original bike with only 14,281 miles on a working odometer. The bike has the original factory Candy Imperial Blue paint, decals, and stickers and has a very presentable shiny appearance. The ignition key fits all locks on the bike. The chrome exhaust, rims, and fenders are very nice. The tires are great and the rear is new with 50 miles on it. The original seat with original cover is in perfect condition with no rips or tears. The tachometer, speedometer, and all the electrics function as they should. The speedometer, tachometer, tank and side covers are not faded like most vintage bikes from UV exposure. This is a dependable turn key bike that starts easily with the electric or kick starter, quickly settles down to a nice even idle, and pulls strong through the gears. To be clear: it runs strong to the RED LINE! The bike has surprising speed and torque and does not need to be babied. With only 14,281 miles on the clock it has years of life left in it. This bike would be a great addition to any vintage collection or a daily rider/commuter bike. You can ride this bike anywhere. I have tried to show the bike with close up pictures so it is represented realistically. All pictures are current taken August 17, 2010, by me in my driveway. It is not a perfect bike but a nice example of a 28 year old survivor. If you are looking for a laptop on wheels this is not the bike for you. If you want a vintage bike that you can maintain yourself and enter in a local vintage show, this is the bike for you. The chrome and painted areas have minor imperfections typical of bikes this age, but nothing major. I will be glad to send any additional close up pictures (I have 153 pictures) and furnish more info as requested. You may email me and I will give you a phone number to contact me at. I love to talk about the bike. I prefer pickup so you can confirm the cosmetic and running condition of the bike in person, but I will help you set up shipping if that is your preference. Current Illinois title in my name in hand. As this bike is for sale locally I reserve the right to end the auction early.
