I am selling my 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 that I rebuilt and brought here from Arizona last year. This car was purchased in Tucson AZ a couple years ago from the previous owner who had it for almost 20 years. I rebuilt much of the car and drove it very regularly for years there and brought it with me when I moved back to Ohio. It was garaged over the winter and is still rust free. The body is very solid, no bondo I know of and the chrome is in decent shape. The paint was redone I would guess a decade ago and the clear coat is peeling in some places, I would say this is the biggest flaw with the car it needs a good paint job to finish it. All the exterior chrome is present plus NOS window visors, a front metal eyebrow, not a reproduction and more. The tires are 1 year old Coker wide whites in great condition. The lake pipes are fully functional and in good condition.Not show quality but good and original. The body is straight and the undercarriage is very clean. I had the interior re done a couple years ago, it is in good condition and well done. All the doors hood and trunk open and close well and don't sag. Al locks and exterior lights work. I had the interior professionally redone a few years back including NOS 50's cloth inserts for the seats, new vinyl headliner, new steering wheel, carpet kit, kick panels, NOS seat belts and more. It looks great and is very comfortable. All the dash chrome is original and in great shape. The radio is an original wonder-bar radio, and still works, both front and rear speaker. All stock gauges still work. The original clock works but loses some time, still pretty good for its age! The floor pans are totally solid, no rot. Mechanically the car is good, the power brakes work well and have been gone through. The factory power steering works well also, makes it a pleasure to drive. The transmission is a factory hydro-matic and has been gone through, it shifts smooth and is very drivable I drove this vehicle very regularly and on the freeway never had an issue keeping up in traffic. The engine is the factory 324 c.i. V-8. The famous Rocket motor. This motor has been gone through, the heads rebuilt, ported and polished intake manifold, rebuilt Rochester 4 barrel carb, the ignition system has been gone through also. The stock batwing air cleaner has been converted to a paper element and allows much higher airflow and the single exhaust was kept and the dual functional lakepipes tied in. A great high flow system with a bark or cap them and cruise quiet. This engine runs amazing and I put thousands of miles on it with no problems. The rear end is original and was serviced but is in great shape, no whine shimmys etc. Olds 88's are great cars, very fast and comfortable and were the car to have back in the day. I am relisting it with NO RESERVE hoping it goes to a good home with someone who loves it as much as me. I reserve the right to end this auction early as it is up for sale locally also.
