Vehicle Detail
1931 Chevrolet ½ ton truck / pick-up What we have here is a 1931 Chevrolet ½ ton truck / pick-up with the 6 cylinder engine. Overall it seems to be in good shape and somewhat complete. It ran 12 years ago when we drove it into the barn for storage. Before that it was stored in a garage since 1980 where it was occasionally driven. It was brought into California in 1980 and we have a signed Montana title. There are miscellaneous parts that go with the truck including 2 radiator / cowl shrouds. This would be fun and unique project. You don’t see many Chevrolet / GMC trucks like this anymore. She is looking for a happy home and would look great in your shop. We are more than happy to show you the truck in person. A little history on this body style of truck can me found here http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/history/chev_segment2.html I may be able to deliver in the central California area. Please let me know if you have any specific questions. I’ll see what I can do for you. The truck appears to be in pretty good shape for its age. It was going to be my Dad’s next project after a 1954 Suburban. He passed away a few years back so unfortunately both projects need new homes. I never got the car / hotrod bug, so I would like them to go to a happy home where they will be appreciated. We pulled this truck out of the barn and washed it off a few weeks ago. I just tried to turn the engine over with the manual crank and could not get it to move. I didn’t try with a battery and the starter. I sprayed some WD-40 in the cylinders and will let it sit for a while. The engine did run before it was parked. The truck rolls nicely, the brakes seem to work as well as the clutch and dry shifting through the transmission. I don’t know if the wood will need to be replaced or can be re-worked and retained. I know very little about these so can’t say in one degree or another, what the exact condition of the cab / wood is. The bed is original one that it came with from Montana in 1980. It has been in central California for 30 now. We have a dry climate that is very favorable to storing cars. Thanks again for the question and let me know if anyone has anymore. I will be out of town Saturday and Sunday. I will try my best to answer any questions as fast as possible.
