Vehicle Detail

A 1923 FORD BUCKET T STREET ROD ROADSTER WITH CHEVY 327 ENGINE & TRANS. The ultimate fun in street rodding! You cannot take it out for a ride without someone waving or taking pictures of it. I have owned this car for over 2 years and it has been very reliable. I have 3 Grand children now and have to let it go for something we can all ride in together. I was told by the previous owner it was built it the 1980's, there are some small car show stickers on the dash from 1989. I do not know who built the car so I don't have the build specs. This is not a perfect show car, it is a well maintained old school street rod ( nice driver). The body is fiberglass, the black metalflake paint is original to the build but looks good, (no cracking or peeling) it has a clear coat finish that gives it nice shine. The frame is painted the same color. It was not built with a top, turn signals, windshield wipers or front shocks. It has headlights, high and low beam, dash lights, floor lighting, tail and brake lights. The red pleated valour cloth interior is in Very Nice condition. All the electrical connections and fuse recepticals are under the seat for easy access. The engine is a small block Chevy 327 and the transmission is a 3 speed turbo 350. I have replaced all brakes shoes, wheel cylinders and the master cylinder. The rear end is Chevy with 11" drum brakes. The front straight axle and hydraulic brakes are original early Ford with 12" drums. I don't know what year, maybe 1940- 48 Ford? The brakes are great, it will stand you on your nose! This car is very well built. I have only driven it to local cruisins and around the neighborhood giving rides to kids. It shows 04677 miles on the odometer and I think I have put a little over 1000 miles on it since I bought it. The previous owner hardly ever drove it in the 14 year he had it. The odometer funtions well so I assume this is the original miles. The gauges are Tach, Oil press, Water temp, Amps, Vacuum and Speedometer with odometer, all are lighted and work well. The engine has a mild hydraulic lifter street cam with a NEW 650 Edelbrock on a polished Weiand tunnel ram intake manifold, it has a nice thump, thump cammed sound out of the big 3" side pipes which are baffled and not to loud, the engine starts quick and idles great. The transmission shifts smooth, no problems with the engine or trans. The compression is normal probably 9 to1 and I run it on the best pump gas and it runs great. It has a 5 gal spun aluminium gas tank in the bed and I usually go about 60 miles before I fill up. The rear gear is a highway gear so it gets good gas mileage. This is a nice street cruiser not a dragster, I have never raced or hot rodded it. This is a nice driver! you can enjoy it as it is, or there is room for improvement if you like. There is lots of chrome, some areas like front axle and the headers have some rust places and are not perfect. The large Mickey Thompson 29 x 15.50 rear tires are in very good condition, the fronts are old with good tread, the right front tire was run flat at some time scuffing the side wall, you might want to replace it, no damage to the mag wheel. The shifter needs a safety switch. The radio and tape player work but are out dated. The car is registered with the state of Alabama as a 1923 Ford, it has not been titled. Bill of sale only!
