Vehicle Detail

Up for your consideration is a numbers matching 1977 Chevrolet Corvette coupe. I originally bought this car to restore to show room condition, but due to a strain on the relationship she says it must go. The car is very solid with the exception of a couple of spots that need repairing on the fiberglass, and a few odds and ends. As it sits now it is a good daily driver although I do not use it for that, and the winning bidder could drive it home. But unless you live close by I would probably trailer it because the master control valve on the power steering arm needs new seals and it makes steering kinda tough if you are used to power steering. The car has a clean and clear title with no recorded blemishes. The engine is very solid and fires right up, it has an updated Edelbrock 1406 4 barrel carburetor, an Accel HEI Super Coil and Flowmaster exhaust. Together these updated elements fire the car up quickly and give it some added horses that the late 70's model Corvettes lacked. The car also has updated 17" Eagle Alloys Chrome 5 Spoke rims with Nexen N5000 tires that are practically brand new. All guages and lights in the car work with the exception of the clock and the speedo. The interior is in good condition for it's age, as you can see in the pictures. All-in-all the car is more than a good start for someone looking for a show car or parade car. Ok, this is a list of some of the things I see that could be done to bring this car to show condition (Although as-is you have a nice driveable car that turns heads). First, like I mentioned, and like the pictures show the fiberglass needs a little repair work to get the body perfect. I have the piece for the drivers-side rear quarter, so that will make the repair much easier. Next, another couple of things I mentioned the power steering control valve needs new seals, the speedo needs repaired and the clock needs to be repaired. Both headlights suffer from the lazy eye syndrome and need new vacuum seals put in the actuators, but the lights do function if you manually pull them up right now. The previous owner for some unknown reason removed the A/C pump from the engine and it will need to be replaced if the new owner wants to bring the car back to it's original state. The carpets will need to be cleaned up a little bit. The drivers side seat belt needs to be freed up, and the passenger side interior door handle needs to be replaced. And lastly, it will need some paint touched up in some spots. Low retail on this car, which is where I would classify this car (but is far higher than my reserve), is $8,000 so even after you buy the car and fix these minor details you are still way ahead because you will have this or less in the car and it will have jumped in value to Average or high retail value which is anywhere from $12,000 - $18,000. So if you are looking for a classic but easy project this is the car for you. Thanks for looking. On Sep-07-10 at 13:52:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Just an update to everyone bidding and watching, as of 4:30 PM Eastern the current bid price is only $196 and some change from the reserve price. I fully intend on selling this car to the last, final, and high bidder, and I believe that since the reserve price is virtually met that I should go ahead and disclose the reserve price to assure you that I did not advertise the vehicle as Low Reserve just to get attention, and to show good faith to you that I do intend to sell this car. Thanks to all that have bid, are watching, and have viewed my auction.
