Vehicle Detail
1971 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. 472cid v8, turbo 400 3 speed automatic transmission. 28k original miles. I got it from the second owner that only had the car for a year. The original owner owned the car until 2008. The second owner had never driven the car more than a few miles. When I got it, the car had the original tires on it and they had become so cracked and dry rotted that the car was not able to be driven at speeds of more than 20mph. The gas had also turned to a solid as the original owner was not able to drive it anymore and it just sat in the carport. I removed the gas tank and had it professionally cleaned, and also installed an inline filter and new fuel pump. I also replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points and condenser, drive belts, changed the oil and transmission fluids, cleaned and adjusted the carburetor and choke, and put in a new Interstate battery. I guess from where the car had been sitting, the air conditioning compressor oil had also dried up, so the first time I turned on the ac, the compressor seized. I replaced the compressor, receiver drier, expansion valve, and flushed the condenser. The system also was converted to 134a. I put a set of tires on it and repacked the wheel bearings. The muffler was starting to rust so I replaced the whole system with a dual exhaust system with flowmaster mufflers. The pipes exit in the factory locations. Looks very understated, sounds awesome. The windows are NC state legal tinted windows. All the power windows, locks, and seats work. The exterior of the vehicle has been painted once before and still looks pretty good. It does have a few scratches and dings, but overall a nice looking car, especially to be almost 40 years old. It has no rust to speak of, other than a small amount of surface rust in the trunk seal area. No holes, nothing major. The interior of the car is in pretty good shape as well. The headliner and carpet look like new, there are no cracks in the dash, and all the door panels are nice. The leather on the seats is starting to fade and crack. I had planned on having the seats reupholstered, but have not gotten around to it. While not a show car, this car would make a nice driver quality car that could be used on weekends or for cruises. It gets looks and the thumbs up everywhere it goes. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. To demonstrate my confidence in this car, I am willing to offer free delivery within 500 miles of central NC. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally. It is the buyers responsibility to have the vehicle inspected prior to bidding. The vehicle is sold in as is condition, with no warranty expressed or implied. Any questions, feel free to call Sharif 919-697-7262. Reserve is set very low.
