The original gas-engine has been replaced with a Diesel engine that came from a 1989 VW-Jetta (CODE ME- hydraulic lifters) and has been refreshed with new piston rings, connecting rod bearings, valve seals, timing belt, head gasket and ATC. The 5 Speed Transmissions has also been upgraded with new gears, such that it provides for a better, longer gear ratio transition – therefore the engine has lower RPM, which is good for driving on the highway and reduces noise. The interior is in pretty good condition, the drivers seat has a small cut in the leather -pleas see picture, the top does not leak however it is old and it needs replacement in the future. The speedometer had been broken when the car was bought so I fixed it, I am not sure how many miles the car had before, but the diesel engine that i put in the car has 10,000 miles. The car runs good and it’s perfect for driving in the city because of its low gas consumption at 42-52 miles per gallon.
