Vehicle Detail
1964 Impala SS Convertible I am selling most of my project cars. I simply do not have enough time and due to a recent back injury, I seriously doubt I can continue my hobby as in years past, so I must sell them. So I pulled out all of my projects from the barns and on ebay they are going.... What we have here is a 64 Imapla SS convertible!! I bought this a few years ago and it was always kept indoors at all time. The car is a manual car (clutch pedals intact), V-8 (was a 327/409?),has the HD axle bracket so I assume it could very well be a 327 HP or 409 car. Since somone took the dash< It is a safe assumption it had the tach pod. I never measured the fuel line to verify its 3/8" (correct for 327/409 cars). I had planned on doing a 409 in it so all I wanted was the factory manual car! This rare car is a great project. It has PS. The interior picture shows a PB pedal, but under the hood I don't see the PB booster(?). It is a nicely optioned solid SS convertible. This is NOT a rusted out POS posted on eBay for some sucker to buy. This is a great project that I am very sad to let it go. When I bought it, I was very pick on my project. I didn't want someone's picked over bondo queen! lol. When I buy cars on Ebay so I always feel better when there are lots of pictures to view to make sure the are no defects or the seller is trying to hide anything. I will post almost 20 + pictures. I uploaded what I had and I will try to take more this weekend. Nothing to hide here. This is a super project. It does have rust in all the usual places. I will personally go out and take pan pictures this weekend to make sure they are as good as I remember. I had over 7 verts, it is hard to keep them straight. However, this is the real deal 64 SS vert that I had personally stashed to the side for me personally to restore! IT HAS ALL THE CONVERTIBLE TOP STUFF. It still has all the header, latches, cylinders and pump. No one has raped this car for parts. The only item missing is the bucket seats and misc interior side panels(?). It has the skeleton of the rare rear seat. All you got to do is cover it. That's the way got it. I do have a bunch of 64 parts for sale seperately so hit me up on your wish list and I can probably help you. i even have a 300HP 327 4speed set up. The car is sweet. If you are willing to spend the time, this project will be worth a lot of money when complete. These 64 SS convertible prices just keep going up and up as each year goes by, so whatever you invest in this car, you will be will worth it when its done, unlike restoring a 4 door Impala!! lol. I never put this car on a lift so I don't know too much about the frame or anything under the car. If its like the rest of the car it is probably in decent shape. The hood was replaced with a rust free hood. When is the last time you saw a rust free hood?? Yes, I mean the hood lip underneath is rust free too! The convt rear seat skeleton is set inside of the car. Those things are outrageously expensive to replace that will save you big $$ and time trying to locate one. In one of the pics it shows a bungee cord holding the bumper, it was done like that by the shipper because the bumper had no bolts on one side. Also the pictures show a couple of SS doors laying in the car, they are not part of this sale. I don't know what else to say but this is a very complete project car. It has not been fooled with and will make some lucky bidder a sweet ride. After this car is restored you will have a solid investment that will be worth some serious money. I do have lots of extra parts for sale seperately so when you pick up the car, ask and I will show you around my parts shop. This car is sold as is, no title, just bill of sale. No buy it now. Some lucky guy is going to get an awesome project. Now for the legal stuff....ONLY SERIOUS bidders. If you have bad feedback, don't bid, I will cancel your bid. An immediate non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is due at the end of the auction , NO EXCEPTION. The balance due within 3 days, NO EXCEPTION. It may be easier to just pay all at once immediately, but I will leave that up to the buyer. Those who do not comply will be reported to ebay. This is not a game. I have sold a lot of my car collection already. almost every buyer paid LATE and it is starting to torque me off. SO IF YOU CAN'T FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS OF MY AUCTION, DON'T BID!! The last buyer actually was a weenie and his wife told him he couldn't have it. So if you don't have your woman in check or your manhood intact, DON'T BID. Now, I am willing to store the car for up to a two weeks, then a $2.00 a day storage fee applies. I am nice guy with PERFECT FEEDBACK, and I like dealing with responsible ebayers! :) Good Luck and happy bidding!!On Aug-26-10 at 16:32:34 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATED INFORMATION I went out to the shop today and removed the stuffed stored in the car so I could inspect the floors. The rear seat pans are in great shape. Minor rust spots on passenger seam, but otherwise really great looking. The front pans did have a couple holes, but I think you could just put a small patch and call it a day, very minor! I did make a mistake on the set up, it is an auto car that someone put the wrong column in it. It has the PB pedal and it is an automatic transmission car. Ideal for a cruiser, (the way I like to cruise, not messing with shifting all the time). The trunk is in great condition. The lower pan needs replacing, but all the uppers are strong! Now i know why I tucked this one to the side. This car will not require much body work. She is a sweet ride. The car is NOT sagging at all. One picture I have the door ajar. The seat frame for the rear are there (upper and lower). Nice rust free hood and trunk! On Aug-27-10 at 09:59:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a quick note, the light coating on the car you see in the pictures is DUST!! If you notie the sides have very little, because as i squeeze by the car and my pants brushed off the dust! This car is the best of all of my Convertibles. She had the least amount of rust. When's the last time you saw a rust free hood/deck lid, even underneath the lips!!On Aug-31-10 at 13:00:11 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATED INFO: I am surprised to see that the bidding on this car is relatively low. I wanted to be very clear on a few things. This car, by far, is the best convertible of all the ones I have sold/selling. In my opinion I would much rather have this one. It is an auto, it was a HP car, whether it was a 327/409 is up to some one smarter than me, but it was a HP car. The rust is less than any of the others and the deck and hood are rust free. I do have a 327 HP motor if someone wants to buy it seperately. it came from Larry at Late Great Chevy's when they were still in Biz (early 90's). So If you are not sure what to buy, let me assure you this is the one!
