Vehicle Detail

1995 Mitsubishi Rollback flatbed tow truck. I bought this truck to use locally. I drove it lightly for about 6 months, it started every time on the first crank, then one morning it just wouldn't start. Not sure if it's fuel or electrical. I changed the fuel filter, put fresh diesel in, but just can't get it to start. It has about a 20 foot aluminum rollback deck, that operates back & fourth, tilts, etc. The rear stinger I have, but was not attached to the truck when I purchased it. Basically got it to transport my car to the track & back, but I can't get it running. It has the V6 turbo diesel, engine runs great! Winch works, etc. Batteries are low from sitting, but I can charge them up. Windshield is cracked. It's not in the best of condition, but it would make a good work truck for someone that knows how to get them running. The glove box was removed, etc, that's how I got it from the previous owner. It has 159,000 miles on it. Thank you. On Aug-26-10 at 14:31:15 PDT, seller added the following information: 2 Tires are like new, 2 are very nice but a little wear on edge, and the other 2 are decent and still have tread remaining. The truck does have A/C, but don't know if it works. The belt is disconnected, but the pulley and clutch seem to spin freely, nothing seized up. My mistake for calling it a v6, it's an inline 6 cyl turbo diesel. The cab is in good shape, but the tool box behind the cab is rusted on the lower edges and bottom. It sitll holds stuff in it, but could possibly use reinforcing. The previous owners used this for delivery and so they disconnected the rear STINGER, or wheel lift. I have both the stinger that lifts up and down, and I also have the cross bar that attaches to it. IT IS NOT MOUNTED, but are included with this sale. There are NO attachments with this truck, as in chains, tow straps, the 2 devices that go under the wheel to use the wheel lift, etc. I believe the stinger mounts on the truck using pins which I don't have. The only pin that was included is the pin that attches the cross bar to the stinger. The stinger also has 2 hyd pumps attached to it, one on each side. I'm not sure what it's for, not familiar with this setup, just describing it the best I can. When I used the truck it started fine, and the engine ran great, WHEN IT WAS RUNNING! One morning it didn't start for me, and I've been playing mechanic and can't get it running. It sounds good when cranking, as in good compression, timing, etc, as in it doesn't sound like it jumped time or anything. It was last running last fall. I didn't plan on selling this, but I'm losing my storage on it, and not knowing more than the basics about diesels, don't believe that I can get it running again, hence this sale. Please don't hesitate to ask any intelligent questions. Thank You.On Aug-30-10 at 12:39:24 PDT, seller added the following information: When truck was running I did not load any cars on the deck, but I did work the deck and it went back and fourth, and tilted, all the way both ways, everything seemed fine with the deck operations. The controls worked fine. Right now the controls are self centered, move them and they go back to center, and that of course is with the truck NOT RUNNING. I added some more pictures. Thank you.
