I am the second owner of this 1956 Chevrolet Station Wagon. I bought the car in the early 1970's and it has followed me ever since. Many years ago, before I became a grandfather 4 times over, I viewed myself as a car guy going to car shows. Time has proved me wrong. The car, for the last ten plus years, has been stored under a car cover in my garage,. This has all original equipment except for the tires. I start it frequently, but only take it for a drive once or twice a year as its accurate and low odometer reading indicate The car was repainted shortly after I bought it in the 70'sin the original color. Since then some surface rust has appeared; around the headlights, by both bumpers, and a slight amount on the passenger side rocker panel. There is no rust through that I can find. There are various marks on the sides that have accrued through frequent moves. The interior is great. The dash and metal trim were repainted a few years ago and looks very good. The seats, door panels (other that the arm rests), and head liner are in super condition with no tears. There is carpet, but not original, and it will need to be replaced. The engine was tuned within the last two years. It starts quickly, runs quietly, and cruises 55 mph on the highway easily. There is a small leak under the car which my mechanic said is likely a dried transmission gasket. Mechanically everything works fine. I am trying to be as accurate and truthful as possible. I would like the wining bidder to be completely satisfied with the purchase. I will gladly answer any questions.
