Vehicle Detail
No BS. Very low reserve of $1380 to allow the Buy-It-Now price a small chance. This car essentially DOES not run - you can't drive it home. You will have to haul it away. Or I can deliver it as below. Either way - within 10 days from auction or BIN end - it needs to be out of here. For those in the know - it has a "22" cylinder head. For that matter, it has the HD connecting rods (except for the one that went out the side of the engine), etc, etc from the late model replacement motor. So ... hoo boy - where to start. This car had a replacement engine with a "22" cylinder head. Threw a rod (pictured either #3 or #4 - can't tell without taking it apart). So there you have it - even the replacement engine will blow up. But believe it or not, still runs on five cylinders (with oil pouring out all over the place - witness nice black stain on white drive). How do I know it runs - because after I paid "EXTRA" to have it hauled back from Phoenix, AZ back to Texas, I was at home when the driver delivered it - by driving it off the carrier - oh well ! Before it threw a rod - everything worked - I drove it for almost 3500 miles. Big deal you say - yup - it is - A/C worked, cruise worked, etc. I lavished money on it, and it paid me back by failing a thousand miles from home (sigh). No fair talking about a fool and his money behind my back ... and yes ... I can hear all of you snickering. So just to stop throwing money at an old car, I bought a newer model - '93 W140 diesel with 60,000 miles on it for a LOT of money. I have several other (fairly new) MB's and I like MBs in general now that I found a new love (and money pit) in the W140, this W126 obsession has ended. Can't serve two mistresses - though lordy, I tried .. I did try ... so hard. And I had it in for W126's - very, very bad. But sadly ... all affairs must end ... In one fell swoop, I'm selling my entire (*almost*) lot of W126 stuff with it. You get it all as per the list that follows below. Before it threw a rod, was fixing it up. New motor mounts, new radiator. New power brake booster & master cylinder. Interior - very very good. Major thing wrong is the center pillar trim on both sides has come loose. Some light wear scuff marks on the driver's seat. But overall, the interior is very good. I added it up. The used "22" head is worth $1100 (new $2800 from dealer), the tires were $500 and have about 1000 miles on them, rebuilt turbo (800 miles) $500, set of 6 Bosch injectors - $350, set of glow plugs - $150, tie rods, control arms, bushings $350, new Euro lights ($???) and so it goes. So far the total is over $3000 (at used prices), and I have yet to get to the brakes, radiator, etc. Pay me $1500 - and that's an offer which is good until the total goes over $1380 - and everything else is free. Delivery possible - I'll charge $750 to ship it anywhere in the lower 48. No, I won't sell it all piecemeal or strip off parts one by one - I'm cleaning house (er ... garage). There are a few, and I do mean a few, items which are duplicates of what's on the car - and those will be sold at a separate auction - which will be: another set of Euro headlights with euro wiper motors, brackets, and euro panels (unpainted), a second new grill, an AMG steering wheel (brand new leather), and a new OEM diesel muffler (there's already one new one on the car). You can contact me through this listing question about these items if you want to offer me money before I get the auctions opened up. Oh ... and the license plates are NOT included. ******************************************************************************* Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE So ... there it is. Take it all off my hands. Please, the new W140 won't stand for any mention of W126 ever again. Oh - yes - you get a real, official, 1991 MB sales brochure - in very good, but not perfect condition.
