Vehicle Detail

2004 Honda VTX 1300S (Retro w/spoked wheels), Illusion Blue ............. RUNS GREAT! LOW MILES Only selling it due to some financial hardships. *Clean Title, bought new - I have been the only owner. *NEVER DROPPED or in any accident. Runs excellent! *Kept outdoors for about 3 years initially. Then kept under Cycle Shell for the last three. Maintained quite well with regular cleanings and polishings and other maintenance. Always winterized and oil changed/air filter cleaned regularly. *Tires have lots of wear in them still -- Metzler 880's *Custom seats and passenger backrest - SEE PICS! I am an upholsterer and did the stock seat mods, filler, and upholstery myself with great care. MUCH more comfortable than stock on long rides. *Hard Krome 2-into-1 Sideburner pipes (Sound Awesome! & VERY LOUD, but showing some rust. Not noticeable from afar though) *Kury Pro-R Hypercharger *Lots of hidden BLUE LED's for cruisin' at night! They can stay lit, intermittently strobe, "breathe", or remain off. All done by one semi-hidden button. See pics and video! (use at own risk, as many states do not allow blue lights on non-emergency vehicles. I have purple LED's too, in case you want to add or swap them -- sold separately) *Brand New BATTERY - just bought it today 8/21 *Fairly new brake pads and brake fluid was changed *NO rust in gas tank *Has chrome luggage rack and I'll throw in a blue bungee net. The luggage rack has rust underneath and appears a bit "pitted," but from afar looks good. *Chrome engine guard *Horn is aftermarket, but just standard *Chrome "V" radiator cover, but has some rusting near bottom and speckled throughout -- See pic *Willie & Max "Wild Willie" throw-over saddle bags (very spacious! see pic! Be aware, the buckles are all rusting -- See pic) *Chrome neck covers (very scuffed from all the turning while riding) *Hatchet-style chrome mirrors (look cool, but need a good polishing and some lock-tite or probably just need replaced) *Chrome fender and tank edge trim (considerable weathering of trim.) *Driver floorboards *Clear lens covers on all lights (All lights work except for tag light) *Original manual and tools present *Contoured and chromed plate mount *Left fork (when seated on bike) may need a new seal. There was some fork oil that had leaked out during storage recently. There are other X riders in Maryland that have the tools to do fork repair -- only takes about an hour. *See message about Xiles below* *Has a couple of minor and hard to spot clear coast scratches. I tried to post pics of the two, but they did not come out because they are not very bad. *Has never had any major problems or repairs If anything else comes to mind, I'll post it here....but I think that's about it. I tried to make a very honest listing. Don't let the comments about rust deter you though. Although there are some nuts, bolts, and other spots that have some rust, it's really not that bad for a 6-years-old, outdoor bike. This bike really does look nice and still gets second looks and compliments. Besides, most of the rusted parts are easily replaced. The frame is in great condition. Oh, one more thing, there was a hairline gash in the coolant overflow reservoir a few years back -- ran over a stick -- but I used some plastic weld putty to patch it, and it has been fine ever since. It hardly leaked anyway 'cause it was a high gash...didn't even need to add coolant. You really do need to come see this baby in person. Even if you're on the fence about it, just come over and look before bidding on anything else. A brief note about owning a VTX: One of the best things about owning a VTX, second only to riding one, is the VTX community and camaraderie. I am the admin of the Maryland Xiles VTX Riding Group's website/forum. I co-founded the Xiles in April of 2006, and since then, we have grown to over 300 strong -- mostly VTX owners, but also other makes. There are so many caring, helpful, and fun people riding X's out there, and they all come together on the forum and in person to offer assistance with any number of things...whether it's help with bike work, help on a personal level, or to just ride. These guys and gals will literally give you the shirts off their backs to help out a fellow rider. We do some charity rides, particularly the Ride 4 Kids, we do some crab cake runs! Yum!, and many other rides -- most of which are planned by members on the forum. There is a wealth of information on the site in regards to maintenance, mods, retailer deals, shop reviews, restaurant reviews...you name it. So, one of the best things about being a VTX owner is that YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO PAY A DEALER OUTRAGEOUS PRICES FOR BIKE REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE AGAIN!!! NEVER!!! Anything you need done, there's a member or two, or three who have the tools, time, and experience to help you out. Visit MDXILES dot com to see for yourself! Please visit the following links for videos of this bike! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tq2voHCI9Zc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imEYM7Y2Ok0 I require a deposit of at least $500 within 48 hours after auction close. Full payment is expected within 7 days of close. I only accept paypal or cash. I will not ship the bike. You MUST come with a trailer or drive it away -- whether you drive away with tags is your business, but I'm willing to hold the bike until you get tags on it...within a reasonable amount of time. I will let you test drive if you have a license. No license yet? I'll drive you on it myself. GOOD LUCK BIDDING! On Aug-26-10 at 11:59:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention that I did my own carb re-jet when I changed the pipes and air box. Got it right first try because there is NO backfiring, decel popping, or black/white smoke. I put a new needle, spring, and I believe a 220 main jet...might have been 210...I can't remember, but it works great. Oh, and the spark plugs have been changed about once every 18 months or so -- not because it needed it, but just because I like things fresh. When I do change them, the plug wear is just as it should be -- another testament to a good re-jet.
